"It emerged that Hasan warned Army doctors 18 months ago that to avoid "adverse events," the military should allow Muslim soldiers to be released as conscientious objectors. It's unclear whether anyone reported the briefing to counterintelligence or law-enforcement authorities, The Washington Post reported."

I'd have to agree with Hasan on this one. The military should allow Muslim soldiers to be released as conscientious objectors. I can't see that that would have prevented this terrorist from killing; he could easily move his destruction elsewhere, but clearly, those that follow Islam should not be serving in the United States Armed Forces. Why are they allowed to serve?

Washington had this problem from time to time during the Revolutionary War, and it was always resolved by making the parties involved swear oaths of allegiance to the United States over their presumed other interest. If they refused, they were out. Same thing should be done here. Does anyone in the US Army read military history?
