Remote Alaska can be a risky place to live, a couple of years ago Barrows was almost totally wiped out by vampires during their 30 days of nights.
Maybe it should be renamed the whale flu.
LMAO
Also, Keep up with other H1N1 update stories on this thread: H1N1 flu victim collapsed on way to hospital [Latest H1N1 updates downthread] thanks to DvdMom and others.
Hey so has my house.
Why don't they move to the top and build elevators down to sea level?

Medics aren't saying how many in the village have taken ill, but they note it's a significant enough portion of the population to warrant the emergency response. Three sick people, including a small child, also have been flown out of the village for treatment. At least one person has tested positive for swine flu in a preliminary analysis.
So, how did it get there?
Well, the mail and packages still come in.
I don't know. Probably because it is easier to get their boats in the water from the beach. LOL! That, and the village has probably been there for all of history. Tradition is a STRONG motivator among Alaskan Natives.
Yup. I know what you mean.
Petroglyphs in Southeast Alaska
"Just how many years might that have been? Record of inhabitation in Ground Hog Bay in Glacier Bay dates some 10,000 years ago. Excavation at Hidden Falls on Baranof Island found artifacts dating some 9,500 years ago and a human jawbone from On Your Knees cave on Prince of Wales Island dates from about 10,000 years ago."
Little Diomede, the island where you can see Russia, and tomorrow at the same time.
Diomede DateLiner Cam - Yes, You CAN See Russia from Alaska!
Located only a mile and a half from the Russian border - the International Dateline - this cam actually allows the viewer to “look into tomorrow”. The other side of the Dateline is 23 hours ahead - calendar day ahead of Alaska ;-) This camera is used by Evergreen Helicopter Service, as it provides Diomede Island’s weekly mail run, and the only transportation in or out for most of the year.
