I wonder if anyone in the media, even those on the extreme right wing, notice the absence of Obama.

I keep seeing apologist comments on websites “It would be too much trouble in security for Obama to go...”

And yet, he can shut down NYC for a date night.

Re: “I keep seeing apologist comments on websites “It would be too much trouble in security for Obama to go...””

Security Issues? He is not there simply because he finds no supportable campaign issues to gear up his teleprompter. Also, I suspect, he doesn’t want to go there to receive a less than favorable reception, and he is unable to handle that, especially with the press following him.

If I were the president, I would have been on Air Force ONE and flown to the base to offer my support, especially since we are sending these soldiers overseas to fight for our country, and some, sadly won’t be returning.

I am disheartened to see a CIC with little care or real support for the same people that allow him to live and reside in our Nation’s Capitol and make the decisions that effect our American Soldiers life’s and families, as well. If he truly thinks it would be unsafe for him to travel to an American Military Base, what are we expected to have our American Soldiers think of Obama’s ability to make serious decisions regarding their employment in bonafide war zones... even GWB went to Iraq, and Obama won’t even visit an American Military Base for “security reasons?...”

Not believable. He just doesn’t desire the bad press that might follow his “campaign trip” to Texas.

But they all thought President Bush should have been in New Orleans even before the hurricane had died down.

I’m sure they can check Obama before he’s allowed in...

Wasn’t BO supposed to show up and speak on the floor this morning? Or is it going to be later or has he passed?

Pres. Bush visited Virginia Tech the day after that tragic shooting. And they dealt with security then.

The liberals criticized Bush for delaying going to New Orleans after Katrina. Bush had said that security was a concern, and the liberals blasted him for talking about the security needed for a president to go somewhere. But in the case of Obama, apparently there are different standards.

Yea, on a military base!

Of course, he can go on a date to Broadway!

I loathe the Obamas!
