One other reason he probably doesn't want to go is he seems uncomfortable around manly men. I think he's intimidated by them.

Ozero is such a danger and embarrassment to this country. I believe strongly that every other president in recent memory would’ve hot-footed it to Ft. Hood as soon as he heard about this tragedy. But not zero - no he had to show up to tout his Ozerocare one more time on the Hill.

YES! I am imagining just such a scene — what an immense relief and comfort to see GWB and Laura instead of the clueless communist and his nasty spouse.
It would be like seeing angels instead of satan.
Obama had PLENTY of time to go there before the former POTUS. Everyone would certainly wonder whether or not an Obama trip to Ft. Hood would be because GWB did go there.
Obama's verbal response from a distance was lacking, much less the fact that he didn't show up in person as former POTUS and CIC Bush did.

(Declining a photo-op with a Socialist-Marxist elected by the Mainstream

And hoping to convince our volunteer military forces and The American People
that he’s at least trying to imitate a real Commander-In-Chief.
