Fort Hood, Texas (CNN) -- The police officer who ended the Fort Hood massacre by shooting the suspect was known as the enforcer on her street, a "tough woman" who patrolled her neighborhood and once stopped burglars at her house. "If you come in, I'm going to shoot," Kimberly Munley told the would-be intruders last year. It was Munley who arrived quickly Thursday at the scene of the worst massacre at an Army base in U.S. history, where 13 people were killed. She confronted the alleged gunman, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, and shot him four times. Munley was wounded in the exchange. That's just like her, friends and family say. "I just felt more protected knowing she was on my street," neighbor Erin Houston said.

Thanks Kim Munley....
I hope she drilled his happy place with one of her well-placed rounds.
Thank you, Officer Munley!
A Congressional Medal Of Freedom for this woman!!!
...nice to see the jihadist get pwned by a girl.
&&&
Amen to that! She looks like a tiny one, too, which makes it even better.
Either that guy next to her is huge, or this is a pretty tiny woman.
Well said!!!!!!!
Every military installation is a "gun free" zone, which made the body count that much higher.
If Soldiers have a CCP granted from the state of Texas or reciprocating state, then Soldiers stationed at Fort Hood should have had the right to conceal-carry a loaded pistol while on post.
Thank goodness the officer shot the terrorist in time, but it's a shame that it all came down to her, and her alone.
Heaven knows she could have used some back-up from other armed Soldiers.
An off-duty policeman used his conceal-carry authority and a pistol to shoot the murderous mohammed at the Salt-Lake City Mall in February 2007.

I really do wonder if Raila Odinga’s favorite cousin is going to give her a medal for this.
These soldiers would have been safer in Iraq or Afghanistan because they would have been able to fire back.
There is something very troubling about that.
“the Pentagon has made military bases “gun-free” zones.”
And what was the basis for THAT brilliant decision?/s
First Sarah Palin...and now Kim Munley.
Girls gettin’ it done!
The Soldiers were in danger the instant they walked into the gun-free zone that is known as Fort Hood.
They have absolutely no way of defending themselves in a situation like this, and are solely reliant on the police for their defense.
But as the old saying goes, "When seconds count, the police are only minutes away."
Why is a Soldier with a Texas-issued CCP systematically denied the right to defend himself at Fort Hood?
“I really do wonder if Raila Odingas favorite cousin is going to give her a medal for this.”
I hope not, because she should get it from someone like General David Petraeus (General Betray Us to Barry’s friends at MoveOn.org like Eli Parasite, I mean Eli Pariser). If she got a medal from Barry, it would be like finding it in a box of Cracker Jack. Barry does not even know the difference between the Medal of Honor and the Medal of Freedom, and he thinks people “win” the Medal of Honor.
Actually, as a civilian police officer, she will probably get a decoration from her police department as opposed to the military.
He's an even 6', not a small guy, but she probably stands a foot shorter. That's what I love about firearms - they make a little thing like her more than the equal of some psycho thug bent on murder.
