LOL, of COURSE you are correct, and I am ashamed of it.
Being from Massachusetts, I found the opportunity to BASH somewhere ELSE for a change, not that there is anywhere more liberal or bluer than this. But there are conservatives up here (of which I am one) and the country is beautiful. Heck, even Boston is very nice. The gist of which means I HAVE NO ROOM TO TALK!
I keep forgetting how stupid it is to make generalizations like that (because I hate being tarred with the same brush in that fashion myself) but the tone of that article just set me off.
And, I agree...Connecticut is a nice place.
Please accept my apology...:)
Home has been where the AF sends me for the past 23 years - every place has its good points (and bad.) The main disavantages of the northeast are:
Prices
Looney politicians
traffic
winter
Disadvantages of my current location:
Dust from the farms
Fine dining = Applebee’s
Shopping = WalMart
But I can’t complain about the 3-minute commute to work. (Seven minutes if I have to walk.)
The Courant staff ranks with the faculty of Harvard in the Buckley “people I would want to govern me” test - well below the first 400 names in the Boston phone book. I really don’t have any problem with the sweeping generalizations, especially if the give me the opportunity to give someone a hard time (in a good-natured way.)
