This is very serious. You won’t hear about this in the media, because the media and their allies on the left desperately want to suppress the fact that their policies have welcomed thousands of fanatical jihadis into the country, and allowed them to breed and multiply.

This is terrorism, committed on US soil. It is no longer possible to try to make out that this isn’t happening.

Mass deportations.

Just heard from a Doctor on FNC — several of the wounded had multiple wounds, as many as three...

Makes ya re-think the reported “45-50 shots fired” — he must have reloaded a couple of times.....

Hmmm....as a conceal carry license holder, the key factor to the use of deadly force is if a "reasonable man" would fear for their life. I guess I now have a reference that should anyone jump up and yell "Allahu Akbar" deadly force may indeed be appropriate from the perspective of a reasonable man.

In American it means return fire. Funny how these Muslims think it is brave to attack where people are unarmed. I almost wish one of these idiots would try it at a gun show.

Some local news reporter here in Los Angeles on KFWB 980AM just mentioned that the shooter yelled “allah akbar”, and in the next sentence said the authorities “still don’t know why the shooting happened”.

Are these reporters THAT stupid?

Let’s take an inventory:

-A recent convert to Islam
-Regularly wore traditional Arab clothing to his assignment at Fort Hood
-praised homicide bombers, and expressed the wish that they would attack innocent people in Times Square
-Shouted “Allahu Akbar” before murdering 13 people
-Claimed persecution despite his provocations and eagerness to test the tolerance of his colleagues

I’m sure that the above items are irrelavant, and that he killed 13 people because of a bad performance review, and nothing else. </s>

I’m still trying to wrap my mind around this - how a man even with two sidearms could shoot this many people- many of them being combat soldiers- without being rushed and taken down.

We’ll hear more eyewitness accounts within a few days so eventually it may make sense.

As far as conspiracies go- don’t count on a bunch of grunts being willing to sign on to something like that. If there WERE two shooters it will come out.

Regardless- the CO of the medical unit has a lot to answer for..

Correction by all media outlets — he is NOT a recent convert to Islam. He was born and raised one right here in the good ol’ USA. He grew up in a relative affluent family, received a half million dollar education and a six figure salary on our dime, and managed to emerge with the character and intellect of a six-year old. He was a nut and is a nut and is guilty of murdering 13 people and altering the lives of an additional 29 victims. Apparently, the good life of the USA wasn't particularly agreeable to him and our generosity was in vain.

Unless it is proved our soldiers were wounded or killed by friendly fire, I’m not buying that this peacenik who didn’t even like to go to the firing range to qualify for handgun use was capable of pulling this off. Simple math is required here folks. Unless he used a 25 shot clip (which I think could be cumbersome) he was either Dead-eye Dick or he reloaded or had help.

I heard on the media several times that he was angry that he was being sent to Iraq, and wanted out of the military.
What a hot, stinking , squishy, steaming pile of manure from a male bovine. How many times did he re-up during the period of the Gulf War, the war in Afghanistan and the Iraq war? At lease 4 times he had the opportunity to get out during that period. And 4 times he signed the reenlistment papers and took the oath once again.

” Simple math is required here folks. Unless he used a 25 shot clip (which I think could be cumbersome) he was either Dead-eye Dick or he reloaded or had help. “

Simple math - 13+30 = 43 victims @1 wound each (assuming zero misses) = 43 shots...

The numbers haven’t been given, as far as I know, but the report said ‘many’ had multiple wounds, so, for the sake of argument, add 20 additional rounds that hit, which brings the total to 63 rounds....

Then, given that even the most dead-eye marksman will miss with probably 20% of his shots (moving targets in a high-adrenaline situation), that brings the total to 80 shots fired...

Again, no info that I’ve seen on the weapon types, but 13-round magazines is a pretty safe assumption, which makes 26 rounds in battery...

80/26 = 3+ load cycles, or 6 reloads....

And you say this guy had next-to-zero weapons training?? Hmmmmmm.....

Only info I’ve “heard” comes from Lt. Gen. Cone — they were not military issue weapons and consisted of “two hand guns”. I asked my husband about the number of rounds a semi-automatic would hold and what a “glock” would hold. I forget his answer, but he said not enough to inflict multiple wounds and come up with 43 dead and wounded. I dunno’ but either the first responder hit more than the shooter four times or he reloaded OR he had help.

I haven't heard the make of pistols, either, but it may be a safe bet to assume he had a Beretta 92, the civilian version of the US Army service pistol. It holds 15 in the mag plus one in the chamber, for 32 rounds in both guns. One reload for each gun gets him up to 62 rounds, another gets to 92 rounds...

Haven’t heard ANYONE say he took time to reload. Total time before he was down was 14 minutes. Something doesn’t add up. First responder said he was down in four shots and don’t know how long it took her to get there to respond.

Assuming she wasn’t standing just outside the door, he had a few minutes on his own.

I couldn't remember what he said, kellynla, but given what we were told by Lt. Gen. Cone last night and what his “cousin” said about his abhorring weapons training, we found it somewhat disingenuous that he suddenly wound up with two relatively sophisticated weapons with large enough clips to do the damage he did in less than 14 minutes. I don't doubt a well-trained soldier or Marine could put out a lot of fire-power in a relatively short period of time with military issued weapons, but a doctor??? An innocent lamb who only seeks to serve his fellowman in a peaceable manner? I dunno’. It doesn't make a lot a sense to me, but I'M THE FIRST TO TELL YOU THAT I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE. I HAVE NO CLUE. I simply went to the firing range to fire an M-16 because my son is taking his commission AND I WOULD BE REMISS if I didn't make sure he could be reasonably safe. (I'm an overly protective mother, to be sure.) I bow to superior knowledge and experience.

Dropping the mag and stuffing in a new one?

How long do you think it takes?

Maybe if he lacked his thumbes it may have taken 10 seconds at the most.

The point is that 14 minutes, if accurate, is WAY more than enough time to reload every mag he could have carried on his body.

I've never had military training. In fact the average military small arms training, except that for SOCOM or frontline infantrymen, is not that extensive. I could have done it easily.

My wife could have done what he is said to have done, in the time allotted, and she is only a casual shooter.

There are aspects to this that are not making sense to me, which will probably be resolved as the reporting becomes more complete.....

I’m starting to wonder if there isn’t some illicit weapons training in this guy’s background (homegrown jihadi training camp?) that could explain things....

I would assume that his being shot occurred at the end of those 14 minutes. Given that she was the first responder, and I an not aware of any other person who fired at him, what other interruption would he have had?

Another thread is saying he has at least one FN Five-Seven pistol.

The magazines for those hold 20 rounds, with one in the gun. Also, that gun has little recoil and is relatively easy for even a novice shooter to shoot fast. If he had 2 of them, that's 42 rounds without reloading.

The round that gun fires is somewhat controversial with regard to terminal effectiveness, I bet many professionals will be reassessing their opinion of it. Even the non-AP version of that round available to civilians will penetrate 42 layers of Kevlar, so I'm wondering if any of the rounds exited any of the victims, which could have led to wounds in others, especially if they were crowded together, trying to get away, through doorways, etc.

You must not have moch experience with pistols. If I had five magazines it would probably take about three minutes to fire 75 times with time to spare.

I will readily admit I have little to none. I have fired my father-in-law’s service revolver at a range, an M-16 and a Luger (all at a range). My experience would probably total an hour and ten minutes.

I do not dispute the fact that the man in a coma on a ventilator is the perp. I dispute the fact that he was a similarly situated novice (as I would be) and that he suddenly became conflicted by his expectation of deployment or that this was not a completely premeditated act, well planned and initiated (as many are suggesting it is). This man was a “sleeper” whether alone or with help, he was a sleeper.

From another thread:

The major was a regular at a shooting range I have a partner with. He used a FN 5.7 x 28 pistol. He was at the range this weekend and was very adept at shooting targets at 100 yards.

So your suspicions were on target. This was not a guy who "snapped."
