Couldn’t agree more. As someone who works in DC, nothing irks me more than getting on the metro after a rally (particularly the pro-immigrant rallies) and seeing trash everywhere. Annoying the locals isnt a great way to get support for your cause.

This is at least the second thread I've seen recently where her name is misspelled, which makes it difficult to find articles about her using the searchword, MICHELLE in the title search.

ABC Radio just began their 11am spot with “Capitol Hill taken over by supporters of healthcare reform.... Lieberman’s office blocked by people protesting the senator’s refusal to support the president’s plan....” Then they added at the end, “protestors of reform will be gathering later”.
Thanks for the link. The views of an almost empty Pennsylvania Avenue really illustrate the width of that street. When it was FULL of marchers at the 9-12 Rally, it was difficult to perceive how many people were actually required to fill that street from curb to curb.

First Lady Michelle Obama to Visit DOE Headquarters
The First Lady, Michelle Obama, will visit DOE Headquarters on the afternoon of Thursday November 5, 2009. Mrs. Obama will join with Secretary Chu in personally thanking DOE’s employees for their long-standing service to our Country. The First Lady will also express her appreciation for the Department of Energy’s sponsorship of the Science Bowl initiative. The aim of Science Bowl is to groom the next generation of American scientists, engineers and educators, so that the United States can remain at the forefront of scientific and technical innovation, and successfully compete in the 21st Century.
A ticket will be required to attend the event, which will be held in the Auditorium. Ticket distribution will be by lottery in each program office. Further details will be available through each program office later today.
Doors will open at 1:00 p.m. and ticket holders must be in their seats by 1:30 pm. The program will begin shortly after.
For those who do not receive tickets, overflow viewing on video screens will be available in the Forrestal Cafeteria throughout the First Lady’s appearance. Seating will be first-come, first-served and the Cafeteria will remain open during the event.
The closed event will also be broadcast live on DOE’s in-house cable television; be sure to tune in Forrestal Channel 3 and Germantown Channel 97. It will also be sent via satellite to other DOE facilities outside of Forrestal and Germantown. Please contact your office for details.
The GE-Corridor of the Forrestal Building will be closed from 11:00 a.m. to the conclusion of the event. Please plan ahead and take a different route to the cafeteria.
