Ronald Reagan was a member of a union. In fact I think he was president of the Screen Actors Guild for a time. I would hardly call him stupid.

He was also an FDR Democrat. No small coincidence.

My point is there are many conservatives, and some FREEPERS that belong to unions. At various times unions have supported Republicans, especially Nixon in 1972.

If I was a conservative faculty member at a large university, I might very well want a union to safeguard my position in the face of far left-wing colleagues and administrators (many of whom are more left than the faculty).
