MADISON, Wis. (Reuters) - A year after his historic election, President Barack Obama sought to remind Americans on Wednesday the biggest problems he is grappling with -- from the economy to the war in Afghanistan -- are the legacy of his predecessor, George W. Bush. With his approval ratings down from once-lofty levels and Tuesday's Democratic election losses raising questions about his political clout, Obama held no special ceremony to mark the anniversary of his election as America's first black president.

The Alliances you are looking for are with Castro and Chavez.

Obama held no special ceremony to mark the anniversary of his election as America's first black president. I saw a Fox News report in passing this afternoon and they said that Obama spent election night watching an HBO special about his election. Why do I feel a Jethro Tull song coming on?

What a whiner putz.
Every President has something or other left over from the previous administration they have to deal with.
This asshole took the wheel on the way to the checkered flag and drove into the ditch - and has the nerve to blame it on the guy who gave him the wheel!

Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t think this attitude that “it’s not my fault even though I promised hopey change” will fly with most Americans.
We want to see someone who steps up to the plate, takes responsibility, and makes things better. No excuses.
Bambi is shooting himself in the foot with this nonsense. Keep it up, loser!

This administration is the first in modern history to blame everything on the prior POTUS. Reagan didn’t whine “look what carter left me!” He put on his big boy pants and TCB.
Chris Wallace is right — this administration will forever be known as the crybaby administration.

He went to Madison after a night of watching an HBO documentary, ABOUT HIMSELF, while his Democrat Rome burned and made a speech marking his one year anniversary of his election by claiming all problems are due to Bush.

You are not a man, you are a baby who is still pooping his little pants because all those other folks left you with the job of being a leader. Life ain’t perfect and you Obozo, are no exception.
You are supposed to be a leader. You have no qualities of a leader.
Go away little boy and grow up. People are laughing at you and that is dangerous.

Yes, I agree.
He is likely kicking himself for the bad luck of wining the election.
He wanted to only be a contender, not the winner. His dream was to be able to say, “Lord, dodged that bullet”. What it wasn’t to be, instead we all have to suffer for it.

We had record deficits, two wars, frayed alliances around the world, Obama added. Now we have astronomical record deficits and frayed alliances around the world courtesy of the Zero.
By the way Zero that is one war two battles, one of which the Bush administration won and one of which your administration is trying to lose.

Ain’t that the truth, God knows what they will finally do with the decision on whether or not to put the Gitmo Detainees on trial in the US.
I hear there is practically a civil war going on right now in the Department of Defense.
I think the public is going to melt down if the 911 planner gets off because Bush didn’t read the guy his rights.

President Barack Obama sought to remind Americans on Wednesday the biggest problems he is grappling with -- from the economy to the war in Afghanistan -- are the legacy of his predecessor, George W. Bush.
The 'blame Bush' routine would have some validity if Obama were doing anything to fix the problems.
Since he's making them worse, he owns 'em.

I disagree. I think he wanted to win. It is probaly impossible to pull of a successful Presidential election in modern times if you don’t want to win. On election night (2008), Michelle apparently told him that they’d never have to worry about money again. That is true and I’m sure getting rich off the job was part of his motivation. The other part is that he probably picked up a Messiah complex along the way.
That being said, now that he’s been in the job a while, he’s figured out that he can’t make things happen just by giving speeches. Most adults know this, but I’m not sure he did as he probably believed his own press. He is probably very frustrated and (I predict) he will get burned out rather quickly. By the three year point, a lot of his enthusiasm and charisma may disappear along with his youthful appearance.
