Is there a reason why criminals should be locked up?
Evidently not...
California talks of releasing upwards of 40,000 prison inmates, due to overcrowding.
When we get tough and incarcerate criminals, the crime rate goes way down. So what do we do? We look for ways to get them back out on the street the quickest.
Disgusting...

There is money for the courts and lawyers as long as there are criminals to prosecute. Ultimately they want fines, not incantation. Too much upkeep on prisoners, fines subsidize the bottom line.
