Sarah Palin's dad wrote a letter backing little Tark and the campaign sent out an email with a picture of the entire Palin clan (alas, no Levi) and a pitch to contribute. Here's Chuck Heath's letter to Nevadans:

Immigration
Estimates run as high as 13 million illegal immigrants in this country which makes it a very serious problem. We all respect and appreciate that the United States is a country of immigrants. The best way to honor those who come here legally is to enforce our immigration laws even if that means a physical barrier or electronic fence at our border. There are many immigrants who are trying to come here illegally because they want to work so they can help their families abroad. To them I say that we will do our best to talk to your country’s leaders about improving economic conditions in your homeland but you must respect and obey our immigration laws. If you want to live the American Dream please visit one of our embassies and apply for a work visa just as millions of fine, lawful immigrants and naturalized Americans have done for decades.

I attended law school with Danny Tarkanian. He’s a stand-up fellow. Small government and lower taxes type of Republican. I’m excited for him and for the GOP in Nevada.

His Dad sat next to my Mom during the awards ceremony the evening before graduation and at the commencement ceremony. She had no clue who he was. I remember he wore these blazing red lizard skin cowboy boots.
