"I like the opt out provision.

“I like the opt out provision.”

Anyone who can for a moment think there will be a real option is stupid or insane. Congress and the White House would never let themselves be embarassed by state after state kissing their beloved plan goodbye.

Opt out doesn’t exempt you from the taxes, the nitwit.

The “opt out” is a farce. State taxpayers would still have to pay the taxes for ths while getting no benefit so it is there for idiots to believe!

I don’t think they’d listen much to a Texan like me , but your sentiment is right on the mark. Someone has been working him over pretty good.

Pryor must be an idiot. Does he think any state will be allowed to “OPT OUT” of paying for this monstrosity. Hell no. And when people see their own premiums and taxes going up, they are going to say, why the ____ can’t we get the “free” healthcare and all 50 states will be on the dole.

He said he wants to see the text, does that mean he’ll actually read the bill?

I also had heard the other day on Fox that if a state opts out it will be punished with reduced fed contribution to medicaid? (Do I have that right?) No matter, in some way, aside from still contributing, there is some punishment in there as well, I understand.

That’s right. If we don’t stop this damned thing we’re going to wind up with a majority of our population on some flavor of the government dole...and once that happens they’ll vote for whoever promises to keep the checks coming.

When a State opts out, how much Federal $$$$ will they lose?

Any government option will end up being the only option. They can’t permit anything else.
Opt-out is a total farce.

So does Cass Sunstein. Sorry, we are assumed free and do not have to opt out of things the government wants to foist upon us. The genuine default in America is that we are born free. Don’t nudge me bro.

Besides the fact that “opt-out” is a farce.

If he likes the opt-out so much, why do the bill at all? Let’s all Opt-out right now.

Mike BeBee is governor of Arkansas. He's not bad for a Dem.

OTOH, I wouldn't bet on Pryor and Lincoln going against their fellow Democrats on the Hill. They are both gutless.

Arkansans will vote anyone OUT who goes against the wishes of their constituents...so Lincoln should mark her time. Et tu Vic Snyder.

A farce yes. It is also a deception with an elitist hope that opponents cannot see the obvious; if you opt-out you will pay for insurance for low lives in other states.
