Support Rep. Fleming's Amendment (require Congress to sign-up for healthcare plan they force on us)

This morning, I received the following email, which is currently being circulated around the internet:

Congressman John Fleming (Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt).

Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and sign his petition at: http://fleming.house.gov/index.html. Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!

If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congressmen should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families.

Please take a few seconds and go to Congressman Fleming's website and sign his petition (the site must be getting hit pretty hard - it took me a couple of attempts to get in). Further down the page, under "House Resolution 615", is a description of the amendment, a form letter to send to your congress-critter and a list of Representatives who currently support H. Res 615.

Let's make sure congress eats the same dog food they feed us!

The proposed Amendment is irrelevant as is the petition. The only relevant issue is the fact any version of federal health care is unconstitutional since Article 1 Section 8 does not expressly grant Congress the power to regulate health care. This is the point people need to hammer into their politicians.

His AMENDMENT is just what those arrogant nutcases in our congress and senate should be FORCED to adhere to...oh yeah... they should NEVER be able to enact a law that they themselves are exempt from.....who do they think they are? Kings and Queens? (Well....except for Barney.)

Agreed, but you are never going to get the majority of this current congress to recognize the Constitution as relevant.

Assuming that is true, then it is up to the people to make them understand it is relevant. People failing to impress the Constitution is relevant upon their politicians is tantamount to condoning such behavior and ultimately will indeed render it irrelevant. The people cannot allow that to happen. I've been making calls everyday to Senators and Representatives stressing that very point.

Their pensions need to be slashed like ours too. We didn’t send them to Congress to live the good life or become rich.

People like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd need to be in jail cells.

The American people do not require Congress to live to their standards. They just re-elect and re-elect.

These are genuine heroes to probably 55 percent of the American people now — if they have heard of them, which is doubtful.
