Newt: Hoffman support a 'mistake'

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is warning conservative activists that their support for a third-party candidate in a key upcoming New York special election is a “mistake.”

In a video captured last week and posted on YouTube Friday, Gingrich told tea party organizer Lisa Miller at a book-signing event that conservatives are inadvertently hindering the cause by backing Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman over Dede Scozzafava, the Republican Party’s nominee.

Does anyone have a link to this YouTube video with Lisa Miller.

As for hindering conservatives, the New York Republicans had 9 potential candidates. Scozzafava was the only one who would not have been given the Conservative party line on the ballot. There were electable alternatives to Scozzafava. The locals rejected those, and the NRCC did not vet this race sufficiently before investing in it.

I am contacting the NRCC to ask why they are supporting Scozzafava in this race, and why they are ignoring David Harmer in California’s 10th district. Here are the numbers if anyone else wants to call:

from the NRCC "contact us" web page:

Also, perhaps those of us who donated to the RNC or RCCC should ask for our money back so we can support the conservative candidates of our choice.

we may be on the way to a 3rd party if Newt and the RNC merry band of losers don’t get some things through their thick skulls. I never thought I would leave the party, and have every hope we can reform from within, but if the battle lines are drawn, it may not be possible.

Hello? Newt? Anybody home? Why should conservative people vote for a Republican who is as liberal as a Democrat, rather than an actual conservative. Newt is saying, essentially, vote against your own inclinations because I say so. Worst case scenario: the Democrat wins. How would that be any different from the Republican who votes like a Democrat winning?

NMR=No More Rino’s. That’s my motto. I’d rather have a minority and all conservatives than a majority that enables the left’s agenda. We can get enough blue dog Rats to vote with us to stop any legislation if we stick to our conservative principles. We need to stop any new legilation first..then talk about redo.

Newt shares podiums with Hillary and Sharpton. He supports Scoz.

Sarah eats what she kills. She supports Hoffman.

Why is there even a question about this?

What Newt meant to say is that a Hoffman win will destroy his (Newt’s) credibility.

Message to Newt:
If Rebublicans behave like Democrats, why do we need TWO parties?
Neither party behaves like adults.
Conservatives are the only folks I’ve seen that can handle the truth and are attempting to use common sense in solutions.

It’s far worse when a Democrat registered/running as a Republican wins,

because then the Democrats can claim “bipartisan support” for their position on the issues on which she sides with them.

No, it’s over for Gingrich. Once he came out in support for Scuzzifaker, and attacked Hoffman, he showed himself to be a man without principles, and certainly no more than a feigner to conservative values, that he is obviouysly willing to toss in the dirt for the mere hope at the Pyrrhic victory a Scuzzifaker win would bring.

The Politico, only posts this, because they would rather see ScuzziFaker win, than the GOP, get rid of those who are holding the GOP from holding to their values, for fear that when the delusional Lillipution control freak partys idiotic plans begin to spin out of control, people won’t flood innto the conservative movement for sanitys sake.

I would love for someone to ask Newt 3 questions:

1. Given her positions on the issues, is it conceivable that Dede could have run as a Democrat?

2. If she had run as a Democrat, with Hoffman as the Republican nominee, would you still have endorsed her?

3. Doesn’t that make you a useless party shill as opposed to a person of principle?

what makes Newt think we want the same old same old Repub.? Newt wasn’t paying attention in 94, the mandate was for conservatism, not republicanism. And if the GOP doesn’t pay attention, then the GOP will remain a dead party.

If this video exists it will be Newt's Waterloo.

We tell them time after time that the reason that they lost in 2006 and 2008 is because they were too much like the Rats. Yet their solution is to continue to emulate the Rats.
