I wouldn't read too much into it. Its basically voter fatigue with 12 years of the Democrats running the Virginia statehouse, an unpopular President and and an economy in recession. Its just your normal throw the other guy out vote. I don't think its an endorsement of the GOP.

Good point, VA voters can never be counted on, as they showed so well in 2008.
