A "hate crimes" plan that opponents have warned will be used to crack down on Christian speech, even the reading of the Bible, is poised to be signed by President Obama, a longtime proponent of the plan to give homosexuals and those with other alternative lifestyles special protections not provided other classes of citizens.
The Senate approved the "hate crimes" plan 68-29 today after Democrats strategically attached it to a "must-pass" $680 billion defense appropriations plan.
Most Republicans, although normally strong supporters of the U.S. military, opposed the plan.
"The inclusion of the controversial language of the hate crimes legislation, which is unrelated to our national defense, is deeply troubling," Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., told Fox News after the vote.
The plan also hands out federal money to states and local governments in pursuit of "preventing" hate crimes.
Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said the move is a step toward thought crimes and suggested the bill will be a warning against those to speak out about their religious faith.

Ping.
These fools are just plain stupid. It’s laws like that these that even a majority of Democrats won’t stand for. They all have children and to protect these misfits with laws will get under the craw of a vast majority. IMHO.
What stupid republicans voted for this monster?
Well my tagline says it all.
This is called buying the NAMBLA vote.
I remember when there use to be a country called America.
This administration needs to either be voted out in 2010-2012 or dragged out by gun point.
What is more immoral: Being Homosexual or being forced to do the bidding of Homosexuals identity politics?
Ping.
I remember when men were not butt boys and servants of fuzzy thinking; knowing the difference between right and wrong on its face.
Heterosexuals have been historically attacked by homosexuals. So we should be covered by the bill.
What are the chances that the SCOTUS will strike down this law as an unconstitutional infringement on free speech?
The families of elite statesman will get special protection. There was an outspoken pedophile named Lindsay Ashford who had a part of his website comparing the “sexiness” of Obama’s young daughters. It wasn’t long until the feds forced him to take down that part of the site. Ironically, he was also an outspoken supporter of Obama during the campaign.
The children of the plebeian class will get no such protection. Their lives are at the mercy of state law enforcement who will be hampered by evil new federal regulations. If the children ever find the courage to speak up or defend themselves, they will be tried for hate speech against their molester.
There will no longer be any just rule of law in this country. It is time for vigilante justice.
It’s somewhat ironic that it passes at the same time that America is mourning the death of another little girl in Florida. We may never get justice for these parents.
Did the Politubro exempt themselves?
HAte Crime eh? Well lets see the bill and see what the definition of hate crime is. This was used in Canada to curtail freedom of speech about ethnic minorities, and language reform commentary ( compulsory french classes in English schools etc.).
Mark Steyn just fininshed with the Canadian Human Rights commissions that said his telling the truth about Muslim sharia law was hate speech. Steyn was absolved.
This may be the first step in curtailing the truth about certain political moves that will come from Obama involving illegal aliens and immigrants from gaza,as well as removing firearms from anyone who speaks up in public about such things.
WHERE IS THE TEXT OF THIS BILL???? CAN SOMEONE GIVE US A LINK?
Demint’s speech yesterday on the floor of the Senate was brilliant.
....another step closer to their dream.....
