Morning Fix: Palin Endorses Hoffman
Washington Post ^ | October 23, 2009 | Chris Cilliza

Sarah Palin's decision to endorse the Conservative party candidate over the Republican nominee in a special House election in upstate New York is the latest example that the former Alaska governor's allegiance is to her conservative principles rather than the edicts of the party.

"Republicans and conservatives around the country are sending an important message to the Republican establishment in their outstanding grassroots support for Doug Hoffman: no more politics as usual," wrote Palin on her Facebook page.

She also cited former president Ronald Reagan's belief that "blurring the lines" was not the way to re-build the Republican party and added: "The Republican Party today has decided to choose a candidate who more than blurs the lines, and there is no real difference between the Democrat and the Republican in this race."

Are there any recent poll numbers out on this race? If so it will be interesting to see if there is any movement to Hoffman following the Palin endorsement. The real question of course is: Does Hoffman have a real chance to win vs. just being the spoiler and making a point.

Now this is one of the first signs I have seen that we might really have something here with Sarah. Dissing Steele, the RNC and GWB as not being conservative always get’s my vote!

RNC/GM hack Hannity sold Steele on his show. I knew we were in trouble when Steele said he would “Reach out!”. That means more entitlements, gay marriage, amnesty, hate crimes, tax credits for doing your homework.

Never thought I’d say it, but I’ll take the spoiler to make the point any day.

We either have to create a viable third party that truly represents conservatives, or we have to cut the GOP down at the knees and rebuild.

The last two major elections showed they are not going to represent us, they are going to whip us into obedience.

So, I say, eff them and the elephant they rode in on. If they haven’t learned their lesson yet, then they may need to be utterly defeated.

They’ve already proven that they can’t win even with the “nose pinchers” who go against their own belief hoping to elect the “lesser of two evils.” So, at this point, we may as well start sending a message that we DO HAVE A CHOICE, even if it hurts us in the short-term.

Where does RINO Mitt stand?

Where are the other self-proclaimed conservatives? Where is 0.5% Hunter? Where is Paw-Paw? Where is mccain? Where is Leslie Gramnesty?

Lots of gutless "republicans" RINOs and their followers are hanging together and being exposed.

America needs strong conservatives who stand-up for their values. Sarah palin is leading the fight to take back the party but more importantly to take back America.

That's what's great about this election. We can make this point here without suffering a severe, or possibly any, loss by standing for Hoffman. The worst thatg will happen will be the DemonRat being elected for a one year term, after which he's likely to be defeated. All he'll do is add one more vote, probably insignificant, to an othewise large DemonRat House majority. That's no where near as bad as electing the horrible, worse than RINO lib woman. This is our great chance to begin cleaning the Republican house.

That’s the ROGUE we’ve been waiting for!

I don’t mean that I endorse her for any particular office - but I damned well endorse her willingness to speak out and support CONSERVATISM where she can!!!!!!!

Imagine if she made a campaign appearance for Hoffman

The girl can fire up a crowd. Why I might drive all the way from Connecticut to see it.

One poll, dated October 15, 2009, showed:

Bill Owens, Democrat, with 33%; Dede Scozzafava, Republican, 29%; Doug Hoffman, Conservative, 23%; undecided 15%.

Here is the URL: http://www.ballot-access.org/2009/10/15/new-poll-in-new-york-special-congressional-race/

Does any know if there is a runoff if no candidate receives 50%?
