Pawlenty doesn't back GOP candidate (Doesn't "know anything about" it)
The Hill ^ | 10/22/09 | Reid Wilson

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R) did not offer support for the Republican candidate running in a special election in New York's 23rd District.

Pawlenty, speaking to reporters after his political action committee held its first fundraiser, said he did not know enough about the candidates to make an endorsement, and that he had not been following the race. Assemblywoman Dede Scozzafava (R) is facing a challenge from the right in Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman. Attorney Bill Owens is the Democratic candidate. "I haven't been following that," Pawlenty said of the contest. "I haven't studied the race at all. It's not that I would or wouldn't [endorse Scozzafava], I just don't know anything about it."

Conservative organizations like the American Conservative Union, the Club for Growth and pro-life groups are backing Hoffman, while the National Rifle Association and the centrist Republican Main Street Partnership are backing Scozzafava.

The more I see and hear of Pawlenty, the less I care for him. He's clueless at times....like this time.

Why is the governor of Minnesota relevant to a House race in New York? Will anyone vote in this raced based on what Pawlenty says?

TPaw is Vice Chair of the Republican Governor Association.

1) He doesn’t want any would be mavericks challenging his authority.

2) He doesn’t want to anger RINO donors when he runs for President.

He’s trying to run for Prez. Palin just endorsed the Conservative Party candidate in no uncertain terms. Pawlenty looks like the jelly spined RINO that he is.

Why is the governor of Minnesota relevant to a House race in New York?

Because the particular Governor in question has presidential ambitions, and if he wants to become a success, he's going to need to stand on certain principles and support candidates who share his ideology.

OK cross Pawlenty off the potential POTUS list.

I bet there are more conservatives than RINOs.

Hilarious!!! At least he didn’t give a knee-jerk endorsement to the Republican.

This has been a day for great news!!!! Bachmann, Palin both endorse Doug Hoffman. Also this: “The Most Important Number in Politics Today.”

Doug Hoffman is the Conservative alternative in this race (or Hoffman by PayPal).

Markos Moulitsas, founder of The Daily Kos has endorsed Scozzafava. Dede Scozzafava has also been endorsed by NYSUT, the largest labor union in New York, and an affiliate of the National Education Association.

Scozzafava also holds these positions:

Scozzafava has also run in past elections on the Working Families Party (a progressive party associated with ACORN) line on the ballot.

This lady isn’t a RINO, she is a big “R” libeRal democRat. Mark Steyn has coined the term DIABLO for her and others like her. Democrat In All But Label Only.

There are also at least 17 unprincipled DIABLO enablers in the house who have donated funds or otherwise supported to this LibeRal democRat's DIABLO’s campaign. They include Boehner, Cantor, Sessions, Hensarling, Brown-Waite and McCotter. I don’t have a full list, but I will be looking for it. These unprincipled enablers should be targeted for elimination in the primaries next year. Also, perhaps those of us who donated to the RNC or RCCC should ask for our money back so we can support the conservative candidates of our choice.

More threads ...
From the desk of
cc2k:
I support Doug Hoffman for Congress (PayPal).

Please, spread the word about this important election on November 3, 2009 in New York’s 23rd congressional district.

McCain's staff only reads David Brooks.

They haven't a clue what we are thinking, why did Pawlenty hire those losers?

Pawlenty is quite good on the stump, he should drop the RINOS fast and find rightwing advisers to brief him.

This is a bellweather election for the heart of the GOP. The public is interested in knowing where every Republican leader stands, with the old guard, RINO candidate who will bend-over for the Democrats or the true conservative.

"Why is the governor of Minnesota relevant to a House race in New York? Will anyone vote in this raced based on what Pawlenty says?"

No. And, frankly It's none of Pawlenty's damn business. He should be focusing all his attention on Minnesota, not the special election in a different state.
