Community leaders organized meetings at Al Tawba mosque in Claremont to address fear and frustration expressed by many local West African immigrants who have experienced tensions with the local black American residents.

The storefronts on a stretch of Webster Avenue in the Claremont neighborhood in the South Bronx tell the story of local shifts as well as any census: a Senegalese-run 99-cent store, an African video store, an African-run fast-food spot, a mosque, several African restaurants.
A Community Struggles The owner of Café de C.E.D.E.A.O., named for the coalition of West African nations, envisioned it as a community hub, where Americans would try his wife’s cassava soup and realize it’s not so foreign after all. But a year in, the owner, Mohammed M. Barrie, said he could count the number of American patrons on one hand.
Meanwhile, he and his customers have been taunted, he said, and his restaurant’s window urinated on. Someone tried to break into a diner’s car. Then there is the bullet hole in the front window, a mark from a gunshot through the window late one night last summer.
“Those people, they don’t respect African people,” said Mr. Barrie, a Sierra Leone native who settled in the United States in 1998. “I pay my bills, I pay my taxes, they still ...” He trailed off.

How sad. I’m speechless. American born blacks are resentful of African immigrants who are working and running businesses, and being productive members of society? Somebody p*** on his window???? Somebody else shot at his store? And the American born people do that because why????????

In the UK - Somali Muslims attack and call n***er the Caribean British citizens who have live in the UK for decades. A black Brit did a video on it and i think he called it the N word.
This is just like Africa where Islamic (black/Arabic) Africans kill African Christians.
The African-Americans, like many of other-Americans, are wondering what the hell these people are doing in our country. Why are we importing poor people from all over the world, who then try to impose their ways on our culture?

Someone needs to ask Rev Wright which chickens are coming home to roost.
The African-Americans are upset because the new immigrants are kicking their butts. The new immigrants are employed, starting businesses and owning the buildings that the A/M’s are living in. They are also blowing the cover of oppression that the White Man is keeping us down. No wonder they are mad, Al and Jesse have told them it is impossible to get ahead. These darn immigrants are screwing up the story.
No person residing in NYC or any other place in America should be subject to unwarranted assaults. Any such attacks should be a police matter and properly prosecuted.
That said, all NYC or elsewhere permanent residents should be citizens or legal immigrants who have done the necessary paperwork to come here. Any person, found to be an illegal should be deported and forbidden to return. Anyone operating a licensed business or applying for a government benefit should be required to show real ID of citizenship or legal immigrant status.
We need 2 of the “that’s racists” kids yelling “that’s racist” at each other. HA !

Looks like they are staying to themselves instead of intermingling. Those actions will raise suspicions.
We bring them here precisely so they can impose their culture on our nation.
What many of us suspected for years is becoming apparent - progressives intend to destroy American culture in order to rebuild it in their own image.

I’ll root for the West Africans, at least they appreciate the fact they’re in this country.
While I’m not defending the American blacks who are attacking them, it certainly wouldn’t bother me at all if these folks packed up and went back to their 3rd world Islamic $hitholes.
This is an old pattern. Newcomers arrive, start businesses, and are treated with resentment by the older residents. In the past, there was always a “racial” element. This time, there isn’t one, but it’s the same old pattern.

I have worked with a lot of people who have come from African countries, like Nigeria, or South Africa. Every one of them I’ve meet has been very nice, and very professional, and very appreciative of this country.
They think the blacks in this country are idiots, for not appreciating what they were born into.

....sounds like the Africans are working and thus have money...no doubt they were easy pickins’ for the street brothas from the Bronx....at first....that won’t last...remember the Korean store owners during the LA riots?...they took to the roof tops with rifles and walkie talkies....starting handling their own “security” concerns.

Nearly thirty years ago I was friends with a woman from Kenya (Lao tribe). She was a grad student and very bewildered by America and NYC. Once, driving up Amsterdam around 103St, we passed a group of ‘African Americans’ standing, beer-in-bag-in-hand outside a bodega. She shook her head and asked...”What did you do to these people?”
I hope your answer was, "The Great Society."
A better question would be:
What have these people done to themselves?
But this is NYC; anyone daring to defend himself by force of arms will be arrested and prosecuted.
No, my answer was that I had not done anything to them.
I understood her incredulity to indicate that the behavior she saw in the black community was a polar opposite to what her particular black world has been. She could not imagine “people” so lost.
Well... this article certainly makes that clear.
In any group there are sub-groups. I don’t care if everyone was Black or White, someone would have bigger ears that others. Someone else would have a hair trait that was different. Someone else would be just a shade lighter than the others. Someone would have a different accent. And these differences would lead groups and alliances to form.
It’s just the human condition evidently.
It’s sad but true.

Well, here's the problem right here. You work. You pay your bills. You pay your taxes. You live in an Obamabot neighborhood, where the entitlement mentality has taken control. Obama's going pay for everything and give everything away. How dare you come in and try to make your own way?
Here's my advice for Mohammed Barrie and the other West Africans, move to small or medium-sized American towns. You will be respected and welcomed with open arms.
And unlike many native “African-Americans”, they are paying taxes and working.
And its the human condition that minority subgroups resent their minority status.
Few are stupid enough to move into a black underclass area and open a business, let alone reside. This is the way anyone with anything is treated in the ghetto. If they were not Africans, they would have been tortured and shot by now.

I still haven’t meet an African who doesn’t think Africa is for blacks and blacks only! Like the Arabs, they kicked out the white people, and then followed them home.
Yes they do. It sure doesn’t take them long to take it out on even smaller sub-groups though.
