Limbaugh bad, Mao good
Orange County Register ^ | 16 October 2009 | Mark Steyn

Posted on 10/16/2009 9:41:33 PM PDT by JLS

Lies cost the talk-show host a shot at NFL ownership; a White House honcho praises a murderer of millions to schoolkids.

Here is a tale of two sound bites. First:

"Slavery built the South. I'm not saying we should bring it back; I'm just saying it had its merits. For one thing, the streets were safer after dark."

Second:

"The third lesson and tip actually comes from two of my favorite political philosophers, Mao Tse Tung and Mother Teresa. Not often coupled with each other, but the two people that I turn to most to basically deliver a simple point, which is: You're going to make choices. ... But here's the deal: These are your choices; they are no one else's. In 1947, when Mao Tse Tung was being challenged within his own party on his own plan to basically take China over, Chiang Kai-shek and the nationalist Chinese held the cities, they had the army. … They had everything on their side. And people said 'How can you win? How can you do this against all of the odds against you?' And Mao Tse Tung says, 'You fight your war, and I'll fight mine.' You don't have to accept the definition of how to do things. … You fight your war, you let them fight theirs. Everybody has their own path."

Twenty years ago this fall, the Iron Curtain was coming down in Europe. Across the Warsaw Pact, the jailers of the Communist prison states lost their nerve, and the cell walls crumbled. Matt Welch, the editor of Reason magazine, wonders why the anniversary is going all but unobserved: Why aren't we making more of the biggest mass liberation in history?
Well, because to celebrate it would involve recognizing it as a victory over Communism. And, after the Left's long march through the institutions of the West, most are not willing to do that. There's the bad totalitarianism (Nazism) and the good totalitarianism (Communism), whose apologists and, indeed, fetishists can still be found everywhere, even unto the White House.
Rush Limbaugh's remarks are "divisive"; Anita Dunn's are entirely normal. But don't worry, the new Fairness Doctrine will take care of the problem.

I'd say the willaim ayers brand of education has done its work (just a guy in Barack's neighborhood, perhaps known to Barack because their kids attend the same schools up there in timeless Chicago). Our kids have no clue from public education just what has come before the advent of the marxist affirmative action messiah. Not only do they not know what the Cold War was, they have nearly zero knowledge of how this nation came to be or what it has stood for before the democrat party transmogrified into the modern communist party usa.

The Left does control many of our institutions, but Jesus holds their lives, (and ours), in his hands.

God helps those who help themselves. Just throwing up your hands and saying "It's all up to Jesus" isn't going to help one bit.

God helps those who help themselves.

Scripture reference?

God's Word says basically the opposite. Trust in HIM, and obey... It worked when the Hebrews had to cross the Red Sea, and it worked when Jehoshaphat and the people of Jerusalem were besieged by the Hagarites, Ammonites, and Moabites, and they just went out singing praises to the LORD - and the LORD delivered them (2 Chronicles 20)...

HE has said:
Psalms 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Just throwing up your hands and saying "It's all up to Jesus" isn't going to help one bit.

'Judges Gone Wild' really didn't say that... He said 'Jesus holds our lives in HIS hands'.
I'm sure the founders of this country believed and knew the same thing. The point is not to be focused on any idolatry - be it political parties, or whatever. Service to HIM who saved us ('For God so loved the world that HE gave HIS only begotten SON, that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish but have everlasting life), and eternal life are in Jesus' hands alone...
That said, there is a time to live, and a time to die. A time of peace, a time of war. A great number of our forefathers were believers. There came a time for them to fight tyranny... We will see what the LORD has in store for us. But however it plays out, our lives are in HIS hands. Praise the LORD!

Well put, El Cid. Knowing that God is in control ultimately, gives me hope. God takes no pleasure in seeing lives destroyed. There is a greater issue at stake than this country, and that is the kingdom of heaven, and the souls of people. Those that are hellbent on “calling good evil and evil good” will destroy themselves. “Greater is He who is in you than he that is in the world.”

The school Anita Dunn spoke to and sent her kids to, cost $31,000 a
year. Funny how left wing communist adherents always send their
kids to school with other rich, white, leftwing kids. I’m sure there
are a few wealthy black kids there and maybe a handful
of scholarship minority kids. They never mix their kids with
urban minorities. I just hate these people.

Limousine liberals.

The height of hypocrisy.

Do as I say, and not as I do.

I know several well, and they are the least self-aware individuals I’ve met. There is no way to reason with them — they think they are superior and know best. Clueless!

My sentiments exactly. Those that think Jesus is going to come riding in to save the day had better wake up. We have to do this ourselves. Standing around like a bunch of Amish will not keep these communist pukes out of our lives.
