I was kind of surprised Brutal Legend (which is doubtless what he’s promoting) didn’t get an official tie-in with The D. It’s totally the same mentality and humor, the fantasy world of heavy metal where all the satanism is real but in a funny way.

Maybe there was a rights issue? Anyway, metal is ripe for parody, both internally (the conventions and conceits of the genre) and externally (the fans that take it too seriously). Unfortunately, if you're not in on the joke, it just looks really weird and kind of threatening.

Besides, it's not the Satanists you have to look out for. If anyone, it's the neo-Pagan Tolkien geeks.
