Funny story, I took my dad to the VA hospital today for some tests and they were pushing every Vet to get the shot. Every one emphatically stated that they wanted nothing to with it. I saw some old grizzled WWII vet state there was no way in hell he was getting another flu shot as the last one he got gave him complications for the next 6 months.
