Obama Plummets Among Youth Over Jobs
newmajority.com ^ | October 15th, 2009 | Rachel Hoff

Posted on 10/15/2009 12:35:39 PM PDT by Berlin_Freeper

The love affair between Barack Obama and young Americans may be on the rocks. Recently released figures from the Department of Labor reveal staggeringly high joblessness numbers among America’s youth. Indeed, 53.4 percent of young Americans are without a job – a post-World War II high.

With over half of 16-24 year olds jobless, even after stimulus package after stimulus package supposedly meant to create jobs, one has to wonder how Barack Obama’s approval ratings are doing among his strongest supporters. Unsurprisingly, the answer is “worse.” According to Gallup, approval of President Obama among young adults aged 18 to 29 fell 11 points this summer. While the President’s approval ratings have fallen recently among all age groups, this drop was the sharpest decline of any age demographic.

I almost feel sorry for them.

But they bowed their collective knees to this clown. He cannot deliver because he is a vapid self-absorbed boob.

Time to grow up, kids. Don’t believe your professors or Hussein. They’re liars.

Obamamania is dying. what goes up must come down.

These youth are realizing that big government hope and change isn’t so good. Bush received undue blame for a myriad of non-existent problems and these folks were too young and inexperienced to understand it was all BS. Reality bites.

“Too soon old and too late schmart,” and this is a real shame. Lots of voters are suffering buyers’ remorse, but lots of young people may be suffering loss of innocence. We all lose our innocence, but it has to hurt like hell to fall from jubilation to despair. Hope they all recover.

If you think about it, This is good news.

It’s an indication that young people still want to do something productive and have some control over their own future.

When I was young, I couldn’t wait to get a job because it would mean my independence and getting out of Mom and Dad’s house.

This is a normal step in development.

Sitting on your ass at home waiting for your check from Uncle might be considered an alternative, But not a very good one.

I cannot believe a teenager impatient for their life to begin, would wait and let someone else decide what their future holds.

My daughter graduated from College 18 months ago (1 1/2 years) and still no job. She graduated with honors in Medical Records.

In this economy employers don't want to spend money on training. They only want experienced employees.

Change we can believe in, thanks Obama.

There is hope ... and change. The pendulum will swing.

Well, there's some good news for seniors, and here we thought we'd all be euthanized for growing old and experienced. Since we can't afford to retire anymore, won't receive healthcare, it's nice to know that we can continue to work (as an experienced, no training required workforce) to support our children (albeit they are in their mid to late twenties now) and pay off our Parents Plus loans for their educations. Now, on take your daughters to work day, they can push us to our desks in our wheelchairs and walkers. See, the President has us covered. Is this great leadership, or what??? (sarcasm off)

“I, and countless others, voted for Jimmy Carter. We have never pulled a lever with a ‘D’ on it ever again . . . EVER.”

I was too young to vote when Jimmah Carter ran the first time but turned 18 just in time to vote for Reagan. Carter was such a pansy and that misery index...ugh!!! Reagan made me PROUD to be an American!!! I have always felt pride in my country and proud to be an American - I am not going to let some 3rd rate Marxist, dictator wannabe take that away from me. The American spirit lives in me (and a whole lot of other people, too).

I believe you are right, the pendulum will swing. The young voters are going to be mighty ticked off when they realize socialism will reduce their opportunities. Maybe they’ll be happy with a ‘ribbon’ that says “We all won.” yeah, that’ll make a feel better.

I concur. I’m a young voter (28) and a large number of my friends are more conservative than I would have suspected. Among those who voted for Obama, there is indeed a sense of buyer’s remorse and a resolve to do what we can in 2009 (I live in NJ, so gubernatorial elections are coming up), 2010 and 2012 to minimize his power and ultimately replace him.

I liken voting (D) to the experience of a recovering addict — you know what you did was wrong, but relapse is often a part of recovery. Beyond that last relapse, your mind is clear (and you’ll be voting (R) from now on!).

I should know — I had my last relapse November 4th, 2008... (puts flame suit on)...

Once the indivudual mandate “Tax” is felt by young people their support will drop as well, not only does this take away their spending money, but also most young I have found are Libertarian in philosopy (even if they aren’t self-described “Libertarians”) taking away their choices and FORCING them into a government program, as well as higher taxes (or healthcare insurance premiums) will not sit well..

The sad thing about this is that employment might not spike up for a few years. Meanwhile every May/June high schools and colleges will graduate a new crop of young workers. When things pick up, employers may prefer newly graduated students to those who have been sitting on the unemployment line for a few years. Thats bad for anyone graduating in 2008, 2009 and 2010...they may be left behind.

Obama & the democrat party have intentionally, maliciously destroyed the next generation: no jobs, massive taxation, massive debt, perpetual near poverty.

Why was this done? To crush the middle class and create a permanent underclass of State Media mind numbed morons to perpetually vote the democrats into power in a new Permanent One Party System.

“..I live in NJ, so gubernatorial elections are coming up..”

Not enough to just vote “R”, brother.

You have to make sure they’re real Conservatives, and not just RINOs (Democrat-Lite).

Which takes work...paying attention to how these cretins VOTE, as well as what they SAY and DO. Look at how Olympia Snowe (RINO-Maine) screwed us earlier this week.

A liberal is a liberal, no matter with D or R after their name.

Especially when it comes to your gun rights; You have Corzine (D-Rat) and Christie (RINO) bebopping along on the same path when it comes to YOUR right to keep and bear arms in New Jersey.

They either GET IT or they don’t. A politician either trusts you as a free man, with rights, duties and obligations under the Constitution, or he sees you as a peasent to be lied to, taxed out of existence, and manipulated.

Lonegan would have been an excellent candidate for Jersey, but...

I wish you luck. Christie will probably get the election, and I sincerely hope he’s better for the state than that POS Corzine...but I doubt it.

For the record - I was a Dem when Rizzo was the mayor of Philly. Left that party when I woke, voted for Reagan, and NEVER looked back. But I do my homework before I pull the lever.

I have to hold out and hope that Christie is at least somewhat better than Corzine, since Lonegan is no longer in the running. Perhaps a non-Democrat victory in NJ will reinforce the power of the people to demand [positive] change — and remind a certain someone in Washington that “change” works both ways...

Competition, free trade, let the chips fall where CONSUMERS say they may.

“Job creation” is RINO/Socialist talk, it needs to stop.

I don’t feel sorry for them.

I feel sorry for any American who is hurting now and those that will hurt in the future because of what has been done to our country. Hopefully those that have not been informed enough will realize we all have a responsibility to protect our constitution and make sure our elected officials are acting in the best interest of our country. I am not perfect and I will not wish ill on anyone. I doubt Reagan would wish ill on fellow Americans either.

Most of them say something like, “I don’t have a job and neither do any of my friends.” I want to say, but can’t, “So that Hope and Change is working out well for you?”

See tag. I suppose most of them would answer, “Yes.”
