GENEVA (Reuters) – Israeli and Palestinian leaders should launch investigations of alleged war crimes in Gaza to help rebuild trust and support peace, the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights said on Thursday.
At the opening of a U.N. Human Rights Council meeting on the issue, Navi Pillay said that all sides of the Middle East conflict were continuing to violate international law and voiced concern that transgressors are being left unpunished.
"A culture of impunity continues to prevail in the occupied territories and in Israel," she told the 47-member body, calling for "impartial, independent, prompt and effective investigations into reported violations of human rights and humanitarian law."

When you stop and think about it, the American people have wanted out of the UN for years. I don’t understand why our government wants to stick with them. Every Administration has supported them......why? Where’s the benefit to the U.S.?

Up until 1990, the UN Security Council passed 175 resolutions, 95 of which were directed against israel. 55%
The General Assembly voted on 690 resolutions, 492 were directed against Israel. 62%

When you stop and think about it, the American people have wanted out of the UN for years. I don’t understand why our government wants to stick with them. Every Administration has supported them......why? Where’s the benefit to the U.S.?

I think it’s called New World Order. Regardless of what the people of this country want. Our country needs to pull back, find some people to put in office that actually have this countries best interests at heart. But........I think there is more to the control of our country than most understand.

Good in theory but it makes strange bed fellows and opens the door to corruption. We’d be better off just being upfront with them and if we don’t like what they do, tell them to kiss off. Unless my father was wrong in saying that honesty is the best policy. I have this strong belief that my father was correct. The time is coming where it’s going to be everyone for themselves.
