Snowe is supposedly a Republican—someone for small government, fiscal responsibility. Hope she remembers that when bill comes to the senate.

Well, when I know my boss is pissed at me, I don't answer the phone either.

Insiders are betting that Snowe will vote NO - she will have more leverage moving forward if she opposes in committee. If Snowe votes yes in committee, RATS will take her for granted on the floor.

Snowe will vote yes on the floor also, this bill will pass, it is over, done.

No, and I have been calling non stop for hours. I called the main switch board twice. The second time they said that her lines were busy. The first time they gave me Collins from ME and her line was open.

Yep. I was wrong and I am disappointed with Senator Snowe. I still think, in the end, she’ll oppose whatever Reid and Schumer conjure up.

In spite of being from a state bordering Canada, the Maine Senator never took the time to learn anything about the disaster that is the Canadian health care system.

A year ago I moved to the Province of New Brunswick - Maine’s immediate Canadian neighbour - and was placed on what is optimistically referred to as a “five year waiting list” for a family doctor. But no worries - I have the option of waiting 4 to 5 hours to see a doctor at an after hours clinic just to get a prescription filled or, if I have something more serious than the sniffles, I can wait 8 to 10 hours in the hospital emergency room. You Yanks will soon enjoy the true benefit of socialized medicine - equal misery for everyone but the politicians and super-rich!

I heard Mike Crapo (R-ID) on the radio today. This crap wasn’t even a bill to move out of committee. It was a freaking concept paper that they were marking up. The bill doesn’t even exist yet.

No the next vote has to be cloture and it requires 60 votes.
That nuclear option is gone since it had to be done by Oct 15 !

What can one say about a state that elects a US senator with a kooky name? The name does not reflect character. Yes, it snows in Maine. Yes her name sounds like “snow.” But get over it. Stop sending exotic out of staters to Washington. They screw y'all bloody and leave you for road kill. Elect a Down Easter next time. Preferably someone with a brain...

the entire concept of the goverment takeover of healthcare is based on the federal authority to regulate interstate commerce. I don't see anything in the constitution giving congress the authority to sieze an entire industry

you would think the constitution was printed on rubber with magic ink

Isn’t this bill unconstitutional? Health matters couldn’t
possibly come under The Commerce Clause: that’s the only way Congress gets involved in other matters.
