I’ve had a mustache since highschool.. shaved it off twice.
Look really odd without it so..
Age 15 I grew a full beard an had to shave it off when I went into the service. Mustache most of my career shy of a few years where grooming standards were waived due assignments with civilian agencies and I went back to a full beard. .
When I retired I went back to a full beard I wear to this day.....
Since 1979, shaved off twice... once while drunk and trying to trim it... started looking a bit too much like a certain Austrian with a temper. The other time, I have no idea... probably bored while on business travel. When I got home Mrs. Slim had the shotgun on me until I produced ID.
