I grew one a while back, and since my hair is almost white, and I needed a haircut, I asked my lovely wife to take a look at it. She said, “Gee, Honey, you look just like Mark Twain.” I looked in the mirror, and sure enough, I did bear an uncanny likeness to him.......till she piped up, “He's dead, y’know.” Got rid of it soonest......

Age 15 I grew a full beard an had to shave it off when I went into the service. Mustache most of my career shy of a few years where grooming standards were waived due assignments with civilian agencies and I went back to a full beard. .
When I retired I went back to a full beard I wear to this day.....

That’s nice. My husband had a little Hitler mustache when we started dating (he was in the Air Force), but he shaved it before we got married.
I’ve told him that if he wants to grow a fine Civil War general’s face of hair, I’m okay with that, but half-measures are too scratchy.

Since 1979, shaved off twice... once while drunk and trying to trim it... started looking a bit too much like a certain Austrian with a temper. The other time, I have no idea... probably bored while on business travel. When I got home Mrs. Slim had the shotgun on me until I produced ID.

Hubby has always had a full beard and moustash. Guess it just depends on what it looks like on the guy? Though his ego has been starting to get crushed lately when 3 year old’s proclaim “Santa!” to him! LOL
