The Department of Justice Visited My Blog and All I got Was This Lousy T-Shirt
The Hippo's A** ^ | October 9, 2009 | Portnoy

Back in August I posted a few videos of Rep. John Dingell's Town Hall on Health Care. Over the next few days I wasn't surprised to see a few visits from House.gov and Senate.gov on my web site. As you can see, near the bottom of my blog is a counter that tracks visits to this site. I can't tell who visited, but I can see what I.P. address they were using.

Imagine my surprise that a few weeks later I see that someone from DOJ.gov logged onto my site.

That's right: The Department of Justice. Why would they be looking at my blog, a blog that was getting at that time an average of 50 visitors a day? Sure, I have been critical of the Obama Administration, but there has been nothing on this site that broke any laws in anyway.

Well, I may have found my answer.

Is the Department of Justice engaging in fraud, or is it simply trying to hide its propaganda? Those of you wondering how DOJ uses your tax dollars to enforce our nation’s laws might be interested to learn that Eric Holder has apparently hired former Democratic campaign bloggers to work at the department in what appears to be a secret propaganda unit.

According to a story at The Muffled Oar website, the bloggers are housed in the Office of Public Affairs (the press office). Their job is to place “anonymous comments, or comments under pseudonyms, at newspaper websites with stories critical of the Department of Justice, Holder and President Obama.” One of the bloggers is former DNC and John Edwards staffer Tracy Russo, whose name was featured prominently on the department’s introduction of its new website on October 1.

Since I have been writing letters like crazy and calling offices, I have gotten (1) a statement from IRS saying I didn't pay my 2003 taxes (which I did when my husband and I filed together) and then (2) interest penalty.

There are all sorts of people who use FR as a sort of "focus group".

If you come here you can find out pretty quickly if there's a story afoot that interests Freeperdom, and you can get an idea of what the "action points" or "talking points" could turn out to be if the issue becomes widely discussed.

We've had Martha Stewart in here as a regular FOR YEARS ~ she even disappeared on court days and when she was in prison.

Hillary Clinton read and commented on our stuff but that seems to have taken place through a correspondence secretary since there were always noticeable "lag times". I don't recall Billzo having any interest in the place.

Regarding DOJ, there are bored lawyers up there ~ not everyone posting from DOJ is one of Eric Holder's merry band of evil trolls ~ but some are!

The Bush administration had few folks piddling around with us but Conservatives in Alaska, snowed in for the winter, definitely use FR (and other Conservative sites) ~ going back about 6 or 7 years you could detect a major uptick in Alaska news stories here ~ now they are a regular feature and some of us have even signed up with the Commie rag in Anchorage so we get early notice on "important stories" (yup, they ping their subscribers). That's just to keep up with that end of North America.

I wouldn't worry too much about Holder's bunch. They get reported when they are noticed, and they do stand out ~ what a bunch of castrated metrosexuals!

I heard home land security is hiring 1000 people for cyber-security. I wonder what their job description is. The renewal of the patriot act is a concern with is administration.

I love the internet, and the almost total ignorance that the the current regime has of the ease with which propaganda can be identified.

It is easy - real easy to spot.

Do you think it’s b/c they’re not accustomed to having to use logic? Seriesly, it’s only emotion.

Of course, most thinking people laugh it off. Do they not recognize their own ignorance?... well, I suppose that would be the definition of ignorant LOL.
