Moderates and liberals hate conservatives.
Moderates did not hate President Reagan. It was unfortunate that he picked up neocons along the way, or we might have had continuous conservative Republican party rule since 1980.
Polls have been showing that this country considers itself more conservative than anything else. For the first time this year, we've actually had a poll showing a majority opposed to abortion.
Do note that President Reagan pissed off people so much that they went out and defeated his Vice President in a landslide when it was his turn to run. Oh wait ...
