Well, my point really was that the Deeds’s nasty campaign targetted to women didn’t work. Dems will, unfortunately, have the advantage with women for another generation (except in the unlikely event they smarten up). Targetting women in the Wilder/Coleman race made all the difference. Doesn’t appear to be working now.
As a female voter, I’ve never understood how so many look at ONLY their ‘right to choose’ without regard to bigger, far more important issues like, say, national security, or pocketbook issues re taxes. Typically, tho, married women tend to vote more R. NOVA is full of single women, in no small measure accounting for the voting patterns in the region.

It’s the WaPo and the closing weeks of the campaign that hold back my excitement with any polling. THO, it looks like even WaPo has given up on deeds .. and 9 pts is a LOT to overcome this late in the day.

No candidate for Governor that has been down at this point in the race has won since 1973.

As a female voter, Ive never understood... Now that done it.
You made me swaller my cigarette.
Horrible possibilities came to mind.
Till I realized EDINVA just might not mean Ed in Virginia.
Or are there some changes you need to tell us about?

I don't think abortion is playing a role in this case. What you're seeing with the women who are sticking with Deeds is classic exploitation by the Alinsky "fix, personalize, polarize" rule.
A large swath of VA working women (both single and married) have been convinced, thanks to how Deeds and the local media has played up his thesis, that McDonnell really truly hates them and everything they've worked to achieve. It's utter BS, especially given McDonnell's daughters. But it doesn't matter because they've now tuned everything else out.

Oh, I didn’t tell you about my trip to Sweden ???
Seriesly, ED really are my initials, not Ed, but it works in my favor usually.

White House announced yesterday (or day before) that O isn’t coming to VA for Deeds. Too bad.

Hey, we’ve been to Gloucester. What a quaint little town. Went to the museum, the courthouse and a farmer’s market. The people were very nice.

It’s great out here. I actually live in Gloucester Point near the Coleman Bridge. We moved here in 2005 from Williamsburg. It’s great out here.

Both polls are of LVs, but Survey USA is non-partisan (Democracy Corps is defined as a Democratic polling firm by realclearpolitics.com) Democracy Corps is Carville's outfit.

Deeds can’t even get help from his own ticket mates.
During the Atty Gen candidate debate on Wed night, Steve Shannon, the dem AG candidate, tossed Deeds right under the bus and tried to connect himself to Bob McDonnell because they were endorsed by some of the same groups.
