There are two polls out today on the NJ race:

Democracy Corps (D) claims Corzine +3
Survey USA claims Christie +3

Both polls are of LV’s, but Survey USA is non-partisan (Democracy Corps is defined as a Democratic polling firm by realclearpolitics.com), and they sample more voters over a longer period of time. Bottom line is this race is going down to the wire, and Corzine is well below 50% in all polls which means Christie has a great chance to pull out a win.

“Corslime has already spent $16million and counting.”

He’s one of the reasons that I think so highly of Wall Street.

If the MSM didn’t over hype McDonnell’s these (which was a totally bogus non-issue), he’d be up by 20 pts right now.

Remember that the ABQ Mayoral win was made possible because of 2 Dems in the race and just a 40% requirement to win (Berry got 44%). One on one with the Dem incumbent and we had a more likely chance of losing. If we put up 2 Dems in almost every constituency in the country against a single GOP candidate and we’d sweep easily, but that’s not how it works.

Undecideds will break for Christie and he will win. In the end this is just a slick hitmanlike dog and pony show by Corzine. He just doesn’t have the favorability for re-election.

Amen, brother. It’s just shocking to think that a substantial part of our electorate is so dumb that they can’t correlate their voting habits with the government they get.

Alas, by the time the OldPossum passes on, those who develop IQ tests will have to recalibrate what an IQ of 100 is.

Let’s hope Lautenberg neither retires or expires until after the NJ gubernatorial inauguration of Christie.

Best part: Despite running a campaign defined by his attacks on McDonnell’s record towards working women, Deeds holds only a narrow advantage with female voters.

The whole thesis thing has ended up being a net-negative for Deeds. He won the Dem nomination largely based on trumpeting his last-minute WaPo endorsement. When McDonnell's thesis made the news his campaign decided they were going to try the same thing. Except that it's something that only works as a "last-minute" deal ... and going negative on a single issue in early September is anything BUT last minute. Once the issue ran out of steam, Deeds had nothing (NOTHING) to continue pushing him forward. He now seems like mud-throwing, single-issue (THE THESIS) obsessive compulsive, while McDonnell has recovered - because he's had the TIME to do so - by staying on message and capturing every other issue.

If the thesis had hit next week or the week after, it probably would have been over for McDonnell.

I guess that's encouraging as far as it goes, but the problem is that Deeds has an advantage with female voters. That kind of ignorance is a real eye roller. Someday in the distant future, the "true history" underground may reflect on the phenomenom that was called "America" and conclude that it was ultimately done in by the 19th amendment.

McDonnell also benefitted from not apologizing over a non-issue for the entire summer.
