Why would he pull out and minimize the damage he can do to the US military?

Gates made the point that Obama needs elbow room to make strategy decisions about the war — as the internal White House debate went increasingly public. "It is important that we take our time to do all we can to get this right,"

What exactly has obama been doing for the past nine months? How many times has he had meeting with his top generals in the Joint Chiefs? Yes there are other things to consider, being the president, but foreign wars seem to take precedent ... at least in my opinion.

Eight or nine months, it would seem to me, is a fair amount of time to devise a military strategy in a specific theater of war ... FDR (the bad Roosevelt) and Marshal seemed to have no trouble devising and executing military strategy in the same time period.

Huh? This can't be. Where are the anti-war protesters? Where is Code-Pink and Cindy (spit) Sheehan?

Funny, I don't see them anywhere? That has to mean we have no troops in Iraq either, right?

Amateur Hour in the WH. 0bama knew for months, after assigning Gen. McChrystal to the Af/Pak theater, that he would be sending him an assessment.

If he wasn't so self-absorbed and totally inexperienced he would have been prepared for any direction his field commander recommended. There are only a limited number of possibilities Gen. McChrystal might have gone.

As the de facto Commander in Chief it was 0bowdown's responsibility to be ready for it. Instead he has been sitting on the report for over a month and still doesn't have a clue what he wants to do.

Obama wants to pull out soooo badly. The problem is, HE is President. Whatever happens after he pulls American troops out of Afghanistan is on his head. That’s a sticky wicket. It’s easier to bitch than it is to lead.

The POS-in-chief should have started this “debate” November 5, 2008.

How much “time” and “privacy” do they need?

Gates is nothing but an Obama butt boy. I bet his butt is hurtin’ these days.

Gates should meet with and apologize to the families of each and every service menber who loses their life while POS-in-chief is taking his time in private.

Let him explain why the life of their son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister was considered expendable in the interest of a debate. Explain why the magic muslim values the lives of the Taliban over the lives of our soldiers.

They are all effin’ POS.

I hate the loss of lives. I hate the grief, the tears, and the helplessness I feel when someone gets the news that their loved one has died. My heart breaks when I realize we can no longer say we have someone in the Oval Office that gives a damn.

I do not trust gates or anyone in this “enemy within” (EW) administration.
