Probably looking for some major $$ in aid for the crumbling canal infrastructure. You would not believe the poor shape they have let the canal hardware fall to since they took over.

I live here and am president of Navy League Panama. Point blank — EVERY, and I mean EVERY US Navy, USCG, and current or former American Canal employee I have ever met in my position would say the exact opposite. In fact, everyone I speak to about their management and care has been most positive and that would include a few military types at the highest levels.
