Geez, I hate to have anything in common with the likes of David Axelrod, but I love Manny’s too. Fantastic deli.

The sad thing is that to the author of this piece, “Jewish identity” IS nothing more than loving a deli or having a sign with Hebrew writing on it. If you set the bar that low, what’s to self hate? To be sure, there are self-hating Muslims who think that this world conquest and mass conversion of all infidels by the sword is a bad idea, even if they do like couscous and stuffed grape leaves. But Axelrod can’t be a self-hating Jew, because he eats bagels and lox. What else IS there about being Jewish? A belief in our mission to be a light to the nations? A belief in our existence as G-d’s chosen people? Naaah.

I tried, but the most I could muster is disdain and contempt for The One. How do you hate someone who’s such a light weight? I hate what he’s doing to both the country of my birth and my newly adopted country, I hate waiting for yet another shoe to drop on the economy, the value of the dollar, the war on terror, immigration, health care, free speech and the free market. I hate wondering which Reichstag will be set on fire next, but hate Obama? He’s nothing but a symbol for the philosophy that now pervades in two out of three of the branches of the federal government. I hate the philosophy, not its symbol.

The World Almanac gives a figure of 16% for Muslims in Israel and 2% for Christians. I wasn't sure how accurate that was so I used the figure of 8% because it is twice as much as 4%--anything over 8% means the majority of Muslims in Israel don't like Obama (and that's assuming that no one at all in the 4% is Jewish or Christian).
