De Gaulle never seemed to have any issues with playing nicely with the US Administration. Sarko is no Charles De Gaulle (TG).
It does not get any lower than to have a Frenchman call you weak.

Russia takes oner former sattelites (Georgia)
Obama whines but does nothing
