Arrested vampire fan was on bail

A vampire worshiper accused of plotting to kidnap a 12-year-old South Boston girl he met online was under indictment for child molestation in West Virginia and out on bail when caught by Boston police, the Herald has learned.

Bryan Confere, 20, of Diamond, W.Va., is being held on $25,000 cash bail pending a pretrial hearing Wednesday in South Boston District Court. He is facing 7 years in prison in Massachusetts if convicted of child enticement and child endangerment.

Prosecutors in Kanawha County, W.Va., last week filed a motion to revoke the $70,000 property bond he was free on when Boston police arrested him Sept. 12 after his 1998 Saturn broke down just doors away from the 12-year-old’s home.

The blond, blue-eyed Confere, who posted there “ain’t much” to say about himself on his VampireFreaks.com profile, was traveling with a 16-year-old girl from Pennsylvania. Unaware of Confere’s reason for traveling to Southie, a concerned citizen alerted cops to the teen, who police said was “sobbing uncontrollably” as she told them, “I need to get away from him.”...

Her daughter told investigators she met Confere online in mid-July at GothCityChat.com and told him she was being abused at home so he would “take her out of this place,” but that her accusations “were completely untrue.”

The unemployed Confere allegedly told police he also met the 16-year-old on the Internet, and that he’d come to Boston “to save” the 12-year-old.

Administrators of VampireFreaks.com have temporarily suspended Confere’s account because of the local criminal charges. His profile indicates he last logged in Sept. 11 at 9:43 p.m., 24 hours before Boston police stopped him.

Well I'm glad VampireFreaks suspended his account. Creeps like that give all vampire worshipers a bad name.

If I were the jailer, I'd stroll up to his cell about midnight with a wooden stake and a mallet in my hands.

Ms. Sweet has written one of the most incoherent news stories I’ve ever read.

That takes true creativity, with the way the bar keeps being raised.

Good job!

Sorry, didn’t notice the ellipses.

Still incoherent, just not quite as incoherent as I thought.

No kidding. Near as I can figure our young Van Helsing was under indictment for child molestation in West Virginia, in the company of a 16-year-old girl from Pennsylvania who was desperate to get away from him, and meaning to pick up a 12-year-old in Massachusetts. Busy feller.

Clearly there is suspicious behavior going on here. The parents of the 12-year-old are probably vampires.
