Bush overextended himself with Iraq and Afghanistan, lost all political support for further expeditions, and also hoped that the Iranian students’ movement would depose A’jad in time. What should he have done, though? This reactor in Tehran wasn’t even known about at the time.

Of course, it’s never too late. Anybody who thinks there’s nothing that can be done about something like this is unfit for public office, and yes, I mean your boss, too, Gates.

If Bush had bombed hard, the riots in Tehran could have happened sooner, and the regime could have been brought down.

The Tehran reactor would have been a moot point because it could have been discovered by the US and friendlies helping create a non-dictatorial government.

I'm not convinced this Rx wasn't known about until now. It could be just coming out this way because the word got out. Like slick willy saying "ehh, this is the first ahvv heard about this".

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a "Bush Basher". But I think W dropped the ball on this big time. We will pay a price for that with O.
