Time to Say Goodbye to the United Nations
foxnews.com ^ | September 28, 2009 | Mike Huckabee

Posted on 09/28/2009 2:34:23 PM PDT by Berlin_Freeper

It was all I could do to keep from pulling an Elvis and shooting out the screen of my TV this week to see the tag-team of terrorist dictators come to the podium of the United Nations to spout their lunacy.

Muammar Qaddafi, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Hugo Chavez all were given stage time as if they were legitimate leaders of civil governments. They are murdering thugs and despicable despots. Their raging rants were bad enough, but it was made worse by the fact that U.S. taxpayers like you and me are paying for a big chunk of it.

The United States pays 22 percent of the total operating budget of the United Nations and 27 percent of the peacekeeping mission. In all, we contribute over $5 billion a year directly to this bloated bureaucracy that doesn't have the courage to call out members who violate human rights at will, pollute and exploit the planet, engage in terror, or who trample the rights of its women and subjugate them to the status of yard animals.

Get the jackhammers and cut it loose from the edge of the East River and float the entire block of concrete to any nation willing to put up with its collection of spoiled diplomats and willing to pay for the care and upkeep like we have.

Thank you Mike Huckabee for saying this out loud - America agrees! You have my vote if you are willing to stand up to the leftist thugs that run these Countries (and ours!)

Get the US out of the UN and the UN out of the US.

ASAP!

The only screw-up that Bush did was this:

He should have used Sadaam’s constant thumbing of his nose at the U.N. as a good and plausible excuse to stop funding of the U.N. But he was too much of a globalist to even think about doing that.

That was Bush’s only mistake he made in my opinion concerning Foreign Policy.

He should have taunted the U.N. about their inability and then give them a deadline and when they failed, pulled the funding rug from underneath them.

Get out? Are you kidding? The UN is the only place that O can speak and darn near everybody applauds. Not a chance with him in office.

It was built on the site of a slaughterhouse, how appropriate.

The government knows the people don’t like the UN and want them out of the United States. Is it ever going to happen? I doubt it very much. Why? Who knows?

It will never happen, but the sentiment is good.

I have prayed for that for years. Allow me to digress to “Our Great Leader.” He wants multiple meetings on Afghanistan. This shows how sophmoric he is. Two old sayings: a camel is a horse designed by a committee and parlaysis by analysis. He is the President, he has his military teling him what he needs and he goes to Copenhagen to get the Olympics. This man smells like Johnson in Vietnam where we were only allowed to target sites he approved of. The Cong or NVA never won a military victory. Even the Tet Offensive was a disaster but Johnson’s incompetence and the Democrat congress’ cowardice lost us the war.

Huckabee is a follower, not a leader.
Palin already criticized the UN several days ago.

The UN and ACORN ought to get together, they seem to have plenty in common.

The only good thing the UN did was to provide a platform for Netanyahu to deliver a gauntlet on Iran for the worlds dictators including obama to hear. Did obama actually stay for the Netanyahu speech or did he leave with the rest of his radical compatriots?

The U.N. should of left the U.S. decades ago, and Mike Huckabee is still a RINO despite him saying all of this. Mike Huckabee is saying all of these things because he’s thinking about the ‘12 POTUS race.

I have always felt the best thing to do with the UN (short of disbanding it entirely) is to move headquarters from New York City to someplace like Haiti, or better yet, Somalia or some other fly-blown African cess pit.

They want to help the third world?
Fine.
Let the whole hypocritical bunch put their money where their mouth is.
Bring all those inflated UN budgets to some third world pee hole where the arrogant diplomats and their staffs can boost the economy of some place that can use the money.

Let the UN clog the streets of Mogadishu instead of the streets of New York.

I guarantee the diplomats would find an enduring and pressing need to spend a lot of time someplace else and they would have the smallest staffs and the shortest meetings in the history of the UN.

I don’t think Huckabee has the stones to quit the UN. I also don’t believe that HE believes half the things he’s said recently. Election fever in effect. Buyer beware.

Agree he’s a RINO and looking to 2012, but I think his position on the UN comes from deep-seated moral convictions. Have to give him props. The UN makes a mockery of it’s charter.
