SEOUL, Sept 28 (Reuters) - North Korea has revised its constitution to give even more power to leader Kim Jong-il, ditch communism and elevate his "military first" ideology, South Korea's Unification Ministry said on Monday.
Though there is little doubt over the 67-year-old Kim's power, secured by his role as chairman of the National Defence Commission, the new constitution removes any risk of ambiguity.
"The chairman is the highest general of the entire military and commands the entire country," according to a text of the constitution enacted by the reclusive North in April and only now released by the South Korean government.

At the heart of every form of socialism from Marxism to Trotskyism is militarism. After a few years of it, it takes military suppression to keep a socialist government in control.

Yeah it is a farce. Kim still controls all therefore they are still communists.
When I read the title I thought Kim was embracing 0bama as a comrade publically.
Can it get anymore insane?

I believe that NK has no other industry other than their military. Where do they get their money to support a military?

Aside from the belligerent military and starvation, this is the utopia the left wants.

Wow: They have even dropped the sham. Now it is just might makes right out in the open for all to see. This usually comes right before the endgame.
We now have three imminent boil overs. Honduras has declared martial law. The Saudies have given Israel blank check permission use their airspace to flatten Iran. And now North Korea appears to be going into a death spiral. Also all three are related. Iran if funding NK so if Iran gets slicked NK loses one of its last sources of cash. Likewise NK and Iran are sending weapons to Chavez who is stirring up the trouble in Honduras. If Iran blows up expect to see NK and Honduras to go within a week. Only Honduras would not automatically cause a problem in the other two.
Now in the manner of the late Billy Mays, but wait there's more. You can combine all three foreign policy crises with a collapsing us strategy in Afghanistan and a floundering US economy. And with any of these you also get get higher gas prices and a trade war with China. How much would you pay for all foreign and domestic disasters, because pay we all certainly will.
Even the best leaders would be hard pressed under such circumstances. I don't think Obama has a chance. I hope he enjoys Denmark.

So it isn’t communism anymore, but a dictatorship where the state owns everything. Terrific.

Kim still controls all therefore they are still communists. That makes them autocratic and totalitarian, not communist. Most "Communist" regimes are actually lying about using Marxist ideals to snow their citizens, and are actually totalitarians in the making... but that doesn't make every autocratic regime "Communist".
To: GonzoGOP
N. Korea's official newspaper for their cabinet featured an article urging officials not to succumb to seduction of capitalism. It said, if they do, then they will all lose jobs and be unemployed.
The official mouthpiece of N. Korean cabinet saying such thing is an indication that things are indeed heading toward endgame.

Yeah it is a farce. Kim still controls all therefore they are still communists. Well, it's actually a totalitarian regime, with all power resting solely with one person, and that power passed down to a selected descendant.
Cuba and Venezuela would be other examples of totalitarian regimes; China was, but has moved to a fascist oligarchy. And with our 94%+ re-election rate of Congress, and ever-growing Government intrusion in everything, we're moving towards a fascist oligarchy as well.
True communism rarely survives more than a year or two, because it takes totalitarianism (either singular, like NK, or oligarchy like the old USSR or current China) to sustain a system where your rewards do not correlate with your work.
