Then there are the evictees, who almost always leave stuff, and often leave disgusting stuff to ‘get back’ at you for their failure to pay the rent.

Got rid of my deadbeats.

They left trash in every room. An old washing machine in the driveway. Odd bits of junk in the yard.

All carpets in the 4BR house have to be replaced because of overwhelming cat urine. Not sure about damage to sub-flooring.

Just got done with cops filing a report to present to insurance company.

Invited Dept. of Families and Children to come view/smell the place and file an abuse report against the tenants with minor children and elderly live-in parents.

Biggest mistake was assuming people lived like me.

Next time, if there is a next time, deal with all renters as scum of the earth.

Gal down the hall from me (in an apartment building) was told by management that her time was up so she grabbed her suitcase and took off ~ but left behind 24 large grocery bags filled to the brim with marijuana.

Where did they get the idea that this is something new? It isn’t. My DM started to selll real estate in 1970 and I remember homes like this from even back then.

They also dug up the shrubs when they left.

I know a guy locally who's currently a renter, and is in desperate financial times.

I ran into him at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago, and he was trying to sell the cactus and plants he'd dug out of the back yard.

...they are evil for pushing this knowing what would happen.

It wasn't obvious at first - but it is now and dems are trying to crank up the bad loan machine again...

No, the loan was not on a house with those "things". The loan was for a specific property with certain characteristics, and with or without fixtures. if with fixtures it has to name them.

This goes on all the time and most of it is quite legitimate. With respect to foreclosures you'll have to check state laws to see what is considered part of the property that secures the mortgage and what is just junk.

Buy a clue. There was no difference on either side.

He is just a run-of-the-mill cleaning service but has “foreclosure restoration and cleaning” in his busines profile.

Brilliant idea. The bank had to call in someone for my next door neighbor when they slunk away in the night.

He was working for a union plant that layed off.

All his union brothers are at home complaining about the economy waiting on the Messiah to save them. He took matters in his own hands is now doing very well. He says that layoff was the best thing that ever happened to him.

Capitalism at its finest!

Buy a clue. There was no difference on either side.

Tell that to about 40 percent of the people that post here.

Actions should have consequences. They signed loan documents for a mortgage they knew they couldn’t make in the hope the ponzi scheme would continue increasing 10-15% a year.

Speaking of clues, it's seems you are in need of a few slick.

The banksters and lenders lost all sight of the lending standards and ethics, and *they* are the ones that put this disaster into motion.

If ya tell poor people your willing to lend them hundreds of thousands, whaddy think their going ot do?

Actions should have consequences? I'd guess the 400,000 that lost their jobs in banking, and the lending institutions would agree with that.

This is what happens when hard core greed takes the place of common sense lending standards and ethics...You know, like making sure people wanting big loans have a job that pays more than 8 bucks an hour...

I agree on the causes, but don’t tell me this BS wasn’t endorsed by both parties. This whole “crisis” was driven by bezzle at all levels of the banking system and Gov’t.
