David Frum Refuses To Acknowledge The Whole Story About Glenn Beck and Ron Paul
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | September 20, 2009 | David Swindle

Posted on 09/21/2009 10:18:15 AM PDT by HorowitzianConservative

So over at New Majority David Frum has a rebuttal to my post calling out his distortions on Glenn Beck. He accuses me of "not doing my homework" on Beck's positions on Paul:

You’d think that review would be a matter of some urgency for David Horowitz. After all, Horowitz himself described Paul as “a crackpot, a conspiracy nut and a public menace… an anti-Semite and an America-hater.” To date, however, Horowitz has not found time to consider the record. Soon afterward, David Swindle appeared on David Horowitz’s Newsreal blog to deny that much of a record even existed.

Swindle linked to a Glenn Beck segment from Nov. 2007 in which Beck worried that some of Paul’s supporters might engage in domestic terrorism. On the basis of this link, Swindle concludes: “Beck, ‘Paul’s chief TV enthusiast and publicist,’ disagrees with Paul ‘vehemently’ on many issues. Who’s Frum kidding here?”

Frum has yet to respond to this rebuttal. Perhaps because he can't?

When did Horowitz say that, I always considered Paul a bedrock Libertarian. Beck says he is a Libertarian. But, I never thought of Paul as an anti-semite.

David Frum is sticking to his guns because he thinks it’s a winning point to use against Glenn Beck. David Frum has never been a friend of the conservative cause. Glenn Beck outed Van Jones and was critical in getting the word out on the ACORN fiasco. What has David Frum done? Oh yeah, provided aid and comfort to Obama.

David Frum is irrelevant, and I do not care what he thinks about any subject at all.

Reading what Swindle wrote...not sure who the worst of the two are between him and Frum

Swindle sounds so much like Frum.....and some of the Ron Paul positions are inaccurate (Paul supports free trade...so he is not an “isolationist” as this Leftist Globalist wrote).

Just exemplifies the problem with the conservative movement today....too much whining from non-conservayives about those more conservative

I might give him crack pot and conspiracy nut, but sorry Ron Paul is no way in hell an America-hater, and I highly doubt anti-semite.

"Paul supports free trade...so he is not an “isolationist” as this Leftist Globalist wrote"

Ron Paul seems to have a pretty hard time with defense alliances. His obvious issues with U.S. support of Israel is one of the main (but not the only) reasons he has been accused of being an anti-semite. Isolationism does not only only refer to trade issues. Merriam-Webster defines isolationism as:
": a policy of national isolation by abstention from alliances and other international political and economic relations

I agree that Ron Paul is not an “America Hater”.
I just wish he loved America as much as he loved himself.

His obvious issues with U.S. support of Israel is one of the main (but not the only) reasons he has been accused of being an anti-semite.

That seems silly. If I'm not mistaken, Paul is opposed to all foreign aid and "entangling alliances" with other nations. It's not as if he singles out Israel just because it is a Jewish state.

One can make a valid argument that Congressman Paul's "isolationism" is the result of short-sightedness, but I don't think one can claim it is the result of hatred.

Will paleoPaulie, peacecreep extraordinaire, qualify as an antisemite if Iran's Ahmanutjob uses nukes to incinerate American ally Israel while paleoPaulie is doing his best Neville Chamberlain imitation resisting any assistance to an ally while weeping and wailing and sniffling about "Peace in Our Time???" Why did David Duke find the paleosurrenderman soooo irresistible?

PaleoPaulie is as much an apologist and mouthpiece for our nation's enemies as any other member of the Blame America First Crowd. In advocating craven and cowardly foreign policy, there is scant difference between Paulie and George McGovern, Frank Church, John Sherman Cooper, and other apologists for America's enemies.

These Ron Paul discussions are way overwrought. Why do some freepers hate him so much? I’ve known him forever as a representative and he does not hate anyone - just centralized power and foreign entanglements.

I think we would be a lot better off if we had less central government and foreign entanglements but maybe that makes me a hater? Who knew?

“Why do some freepers hate him so much?

Because he denies that the government has legal authority to do much of what it does. Politicians and their camp followers hate hearing that.
