LORD, GOD, PLEASE GIVE

ZB a MOST FITTING response

OBVIOUSLY FROM YOU

to his satanic assertion.

I join you in this prayer with a resounding "AMEN!"

I hope to God (literally) that our commanders in Iraq would not be so stupid as to engage Israeli jets as a political statement. I don’t think that will happen; even with Obama in control, I think we will reluctantly allow what must be done. Obama will be like Pontius Pilate; I wash my hands of this Iran matter, you people decide the fate of the accused.

Perhaps the administration is just pandering to it’s “base” and the statements, in reality, are meaningless. I’m sure there are lots of smoke and mirrors.

If we shoot down Israeli jets - we do so at our own peril.
The Lord made a covenant with Israel in Genesis 12:3 - it is a warning that we must heed.

Real actual Americans do not shoot at their allies and friends. Israel is both.

Right. Can you imagine U.S. Air Force pilots given orders to challenge and destroy Israeli aircraft? Those would be orders that conveniently were not followed, or equipment that oddly did not work. Our brave men and women are sworn to defend the Constitution - not mindlessly obey some poser.

Great scene in a great movie!

Z’big is part of the on-going conspiracy to neuter Israel. They unwisely think that this will end middle-east conflict.

PS Arabs are Semites too, so calling Carter and Z’big “anti semites” when you mean anti Israeli is not proper.

Zbig is a Realist/Pragmatist and they have been the traditional/dominant group in US foreign policy. Certainly under republicans. OTOH, the NeoCons dominated US foreign policy for a few short years under GW Bush but Bush removed them in 2006 and put the Realists back in charge, Surely you remember the Iraq Study Group and Realist Bob Gates replacing Rumsfeld? Obama, of course, retained the Realists.

You post mucho cliches with little regard to ideas.

If it is pragmatic for the US to perform no military action to prevent the nuclear threat in Iran, then surely it must be the pragmatic solution NOT to shoot down Israeli jets.

Clear away all the brain dead cliches and what you have is Brezinski taking a hypocritical position.

Throughout Carter's administration, I was convinced old Zbig was rooting for the other side - now I know I was right, then and now.

He would like us to believe that Iraq was America's biggest foreign policy blunder in 100 years. But, the fact of the matter is he presided over the America's feckless response to the Iranian Muslim revolution, which has done nothing but sew oppression in Iran, spread death, destruction and fear throughout the entire middle-east, as well as being responsible for the deaths of hundreds and hundreds of US service men and women, and created an existential threat to our only real ally in the region.

And yet, Iraq has held close to half a dozen free and fair elections since our "invasion" - an unprecedent series of events in the entire middle east. And, while there's a ways to go, they are certainly following the trajectory of a liberal, democratic country. Compare that to what happened in Iran, just a few months ago. Thousands of injured, dozen - perhaps hundreds killed - and who knows how many imprisoned or executed just for voicing opposition to their oppressive government.

Nope, I'd say's Zbig's botching of Iran some 30 years ago is still easily America's greatest foreign policy blunder of the last 100 years.
