Sarkozy, Merkel want carbon tax on imports (Vas ist das? Sacre Bleu'!)

PARIS (AFP) – The leaders of France and Germany called Friday for the United Nations to support a carbon tax on imports from countries who fail to back international efforts to fight global warming.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel wrote to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon arguing that states that fail to back a deal at a climate summit in Copenhagen in December should be held accountable.

"It would be unacceptable for the efforts of the most ambitious countries to be undermined by the carbon emissions released by lack of or insufficient action by other countries," reads the letter released by the French presidency.

"For that reason, it should be possible to put in place appropriate adjustment measures targeting the countries that do not implement or fail to support this accord," they wrote.

The two leaders also pleaded for the creation of a world environmental agency, with as a first step the emergence of new institutions that would "encourage the emergence of a body of international environmental law."

The December 7-18 meeting under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) aims to set down action for tackling heat-trapping carbon emissions beyond 2012, when the provisions of the Kyoto Protocol run out.

Representatives of the world's 17 biggest carbon polluters kicked off a week of high-stakes talks on climate change Thursday with a discussion aimed at bridging differences ahead of the Copenhagen talks.

Another slap by the rich Euros to those poor(er) countries exporting their good to EuroReich.

Pay us our carbon protection money or you don’t sell your goods here.

The way you fight this is to put an import tax on all products coming in from countries that have fallen for the “global warming” hoax and scam. They’re so stupid, they’ll never know the difference.

This is also a clever way to take advantage of the fact that France and Germany are considerably smarter than the U.S. in developing nuclear power in spite of the efforts by the left to cripple their economies. They have set up the U.S. for the coming war in the Middle East in a masterful way, as we have doubled our dependence on oil imports over the past thirty years while France built a nuclear industry based upon our technology which provides over 90% of their energy, and exports electricity with no air pollution, carbon footprint, and no injury from the nuclear fuel aspect of the technology.

Expect $500/barrel oil, blackmail from Chavez, Iran, Russia, and possibly even Mexico, and perhaps martial law as Obama’s team completes the coup. Russia controls the oil pipeline to Europe, and Obama has just abrogated the missle cover Bush had committed to with Poland and Czechoslovakia. Obama invites Castro, Ahmadenijad, Chavez, Putin, to New York while blocking Honduras’ legal President because Honduras respected its constitution and ejected its former president as required in its Constitution.

Wake up citizens. This is an internationally orchestrated takeover of the U.S. That is what our founders tried to prevent by requiring a natural-born citizen for president. We have ignored our Constitution, our legislature and judicial systems have failed us, and our president is a self proclaimed dual-citizen. He is certainly a British citizen, and probably a Kenyan and Indonesian citizen. He may or may not have U.S. citizenship. His passport documents have been hidden, and passport files "cauterized" by an employee of Obama Cyber Czar Brenner - and employee who is now dead!

On carbon taxes.... India told these hysterical Euros to bugger off. India lives in the real world and does not have the luxury of flagellating themselves over imagined liberal sins like CO2 emissions.

Liberals love feeling guilty

Hey, good hearing from you.

India is about to become the face of the opposition to the West’s newly formulated “Green” NeoColonialism, as the old one, being promulgated for all the correct reasons, and dare those backward Environmental Heathens question the beneficient effects of the Green NeoImperialists.

We know what’s good for them!

And plus, we can’t bash China too much, they have us by the financial shorthairs.

Hi SG

India’s public stance is as you posted
Do you have anything on Indian scientists rebelling against global warming dogma perpetrated by liberal scientists from Europe and the US?
Are Indian scientists independent thinkers on this?

There’s been some articles posted here about the topic of critical analysis of the current conventions from India.

Not a funny question anymore, but would the West go to war to enforce its environmental diktats?
