The Senate Finance Committee will release a health care reform bill as early as Tuesday, Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) said Friday.

The bipartisan Gang of Six, which has been meeting for months, could gather for the last time Monday as Baucus said he aims to wrap up the negotiations. The senators could indicate at that point whether they will sign onto the bill, Baucus said.

“We are starting to reach closure,” Baucus said after a rare Friday meeting of the group.

Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) would not say whether she will support the bill, or even if she is willing to be the only Republican to do so.

Pffftt. As if Olympia Snowe has ever passed up any conceivable opportunity to cast her ballot in sycophantic servitude to any liberal pipedream or dictat, anywhere, at any time.

“I’m not going to speculate. That is very dangerous territory,” Snowe said. “I’m just hoping we can work because we’ve given so much, made such an extraordinary effort here and commitment. Obviously it’s not an easy issue.”

Idiot. Shut this project down NOW, do tort reform, make the insurance companies competititve by selling across state lines, THEN we can start to talk...

Everyone please pull up your shirts so they don’t get blood stains on them from a Republican back stab on medical nationalization.

As a group, let us all vow to insure that any, that is as in ANY - repub that votes for any form of this bill will NOT be reelected.

We have to eliminate these creeps. If they insist on being idiotic, let them simply declare themselves dim-bulb-crats and then they can run with the snails.

Committee Chairman Max Baucus, Montana Democrat, also told reporters Friday that he told members of the bipartisan negotiating team to have a response to his proposal prepared for Monday. He earlier said he will release a formal outline of his health care overhaul bill early next week, with or without Republican support.

Agreed. Given her traitorous track record, she's voting for it. No doubt.

5-year?!

“Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is pushing for a five-year grace period before legal immigrants can be deemed eligible.”

we’ve given so much, made such an extraordinary effort here

I guess trying really hard is all that matters. Doesn't matter what kind of garbage comes out of that effort.

They need to release all 35 Repub versions of their healthcare bills, and demand they read them.

If we will not fight over this, we will never fight. No sob that voted for obama cares anything about themselves, their children or grandchildren, or their Country.

One alternative under serious consideration, strongly promoted by Sen. Olympia Snowe, R-Maine, would hold the public plan in reserve, triggering it only if affordable insurance isn’t made available to most Americans by the time the legislation is fully implemented in 2013.

Seriously any republican that votes for this needs to be ejected from the party immediately.

“Seriously any republican that votes for this needs to be ejected from the party immediately.”

I disagree..
If any republican votes for this, WE need to eject the PARTY!
This working from the inside trying to rebuild the party, just isn't working. I'd rather wander in the wilderness then keep this party alive. I'll stay if the republican party nominates Sarah. other than that, I can't think of a reason to stay...

Enzi has to know he’s finished in WYO if he agrees to any death care reform.
