I have no problem with mandatory service. What I do have a problem with is the service that will be required by this Marxist president.

You more or less expanded on the point I made. I joined the service in 1971 when there was a draft. It was understood, at that time, if your family had money, influence, or both you would not have to serve. It was the system that was broken not the requirement of service.
We may disagree, but I still see nothing wrong with mandatory service. With today's Volunteer Service, which is working out great and my son is a member of, we have a portion of the population supporting our country and a portion who could not care less.
I look at it like government housing. If it is free to the occupants, it is not taken care of. I have seen new government housing units become cesspools within months because the occupants are not shareholders and have nothing invested in it.
Freedom and citizenship should not be free. Without a personal investment both can and will be taken for granted.
