Some of people's concerns have grown out of bogus claims spread by those whose only agenda is to kill reform at any cost. The best example is the claim, made not just by radio and cable talk show hosts, but prominent politicians, that we plan to set up panels of bureaucrats with the power to kill off senior citizens. Such a charge would be laughable if it weren't so cynical and irresponsible. It is a lie, plain and simple.

There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false – the reforms I'm proposing would not apply to those who are here illegally. And one more misunderstanding I want to clear up – under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions, and federal conscience laws will remain in place.

Hope this is ok to post...I just think the point needs to be underlined that directly preceding the Joe Wilson outburst, President Obama's teleprompter called opponents of his plan liars. It was in his prepared remarks.

He called Sarah Palin a liar. He called town hall protesters liars. He called GOP House members liars. And on top of that, he impugned their motives.

Notice that the next paragraph begins with "There are also those who claim that our reform effort will insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false." This juxtaposition infers that the same people are lying about this as well.

He didn't have to take that aggressive, belligerent attitude towards these legitimate concerns, but he did, and then he got some right back in his face. Joe Wilson stole the headline, and he was correct. I'm glad his emotions ran away with him.

Of course Barry can get away with it; he is a Far left Liberal Dem and POTUS. But put the shoe on the other foot and let someone else call Barry a liar and you get death threats...

It seems to me this should be THE talking point regarding this issue. How do you feign outrage at Joe Wilson, when in the preceding paragraph, Obama’s telepromter basically called Joe Wilson and others liars. He introduced the word into the night’s proceedings. So here comes the next paragraph, and Wilson shoots back—YOU lie. It was in response to being called a liar. Now granted, that sounds a little childish (he started it.) But he DID start it.

The biggest liar of all is (Obama) and it was obvious that he still does not know what some of H.R.3200 says. Shred that bill it is full of Union perks that will ruin any freedom we have left.

But very carefully watch their ACTIONS. What is in the written bills, the committees, the votes is the proof of real intent.

I just saw video on tv that I hadn’t seen before. From the speech, Obama says “While there are significant details that still need to be worked out” and there was laughter in the chamber. LOL. Not only did he get called a liar, he got laughed at. Has anyone reported on that? They actually showed in on MSNBC.

Thank you! So few have pointed this out. I was so busy screaming about Obama having just called Sarah Palin a LIAR that I didn't hear Joe Wilson's comment.
