LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- Many Las Cruces residents are angry and feel disrespected after an East Mesa man has been flying a U.S. flag upside down underneath a flag with a swastika on it. The man responsible for flying the flags said it's not meant to disrespect anyone, but rather make a statement.
Army National Guard Specialist Anthony Del Bozque said he had to go back and take a closer look at what he was looking at when driving by on Highway 70.
I wanted to go take it down, I wanted to go knock on his door and find out why, said Del Bozque.
The man responsible for the flags said the answer is simple.
It represents communism, the politicians don't care about the American people and it's the same way Adolf Hitler got started, said Ken Triplett of the East Mesa.
Del Bozque said no matter what Tripletts political views are, he is being disrespectful.
It's understandable the way that he feels about it, but it's still really disrespectful in my opinion to veterans, or anyone that's currently serving, that he would fly any flag above the United States flag," said Del Bozque.
It doesn't disgrace the veterans, it doesn't disgrace my flag, or nothing, said Triplett. It just says the American people need to wake up and understand that communism is going to be taking over.

If I follow this guy’s logic - America has gone so far toward Marxism that this guy now views the flag as representative of communism?
And I thought I was far right.
He might want to bone up on his English language skills.

‘”I have nothing against this country. I’m not racist or communist,” said Triplett, who said that he served in the Army from 2003-2006 as a Special Forces sergeant and that he planned to leave the country and give up his citizenship. While he said he “loves” the flag, he also spoke favorably of Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh, saying the government “should have given him a Congressional Medal of Honor. In my opinion, he didnÍt do enough.”’
Yeah, thats gonna ‘help’ the cause. I swear, some times.
And no, I don’t think the guy is a group guy. He’s probably a liar, not even a vet.
If he is with group, it would be with 19th, out of Utah, or around there. The guy is fraud, IMHO.
My guess is that this a-hole never did serve in the military.
"I really am ashamed of what's going on here," said Chavez, who was injured after being hit on guard duty while serving in Korea and said it was hard to believe that a fellow veteran would make such a display. "I think that's probably the biggest insult (Triplett) could give us (veterans). If he's going to protest, I think we should protest, too."
Kudos to Mr. Chavez, a real American hero.
No, you just don't understand the symbolism. Flying the US flag upside down is a distress signal, and flying a flag with a Nazi symbol above it basically means that the US is in danger from National Socialism (which is what the Democrats version of "democracy" most resembles, rather than Marxism). The symbolism is precisely correct. Nothing "uber-right-wing" about it.
I agree with your statement. Evoking the memory of a man who killed innocents is detestable, and it makes those Conservatives among us look like nutcases. However, in the context of the Marxist-in-Chief, he has every right to fly the flag upside down. It is a recognized symbol of distress, and I, for one, believe this country is in trouble. I applaud him for his courage to speak out through the flag, BUT (big but here) he absolutely should NOT be flying a Nazi flag over the US flag.
That being said, I wonder why it is that people immediately jump on dissenters who perform these acts as nutcases or screwballs? If those among us who feel strongly about our beliefs that this country is heading down the wrong path can't express those beliefs in a non-violent way, then how are we supposed to vent our frustration with the administration? A infinitesimally small portion of the population have a radio show on which they can rant, and those who do generally don't hear but a small fraction of the people who are willing to sit on hold for 3 hours before being put on the air. In my opinion, this is an acceptable form of protest.
Finally, my biggest rebuke about this guy is that, I believe, he's a liar. No self-respecting military man would 1) fly the flag under any other flag, let along a Nazi one, 2) say that they were in the military and in the same sentence state that they plan to denounce their citizenship, 3) NOT reference a theater of battle in which they fought (if applicable) or the company with which they served. As far as I'm concerned, this guy sounds like a lefty trying to make right-of-center Conservatives look like kooks.
Yes, I understand and I agree with him.
Actually, his selection of the Nazi flag is an indication of deep understanding on his part. The programs that Obama and the Democrats are trying to put in place are precisely those of "national socialism", in which "private property" continues to exist, but is so wound about with laws and regulations that the property owner is "just along for the ride", with no REAL say in how his property is used.
I’m speaking more about the proper way to fly the flag. Flag etiquette dictates that no flag flies higher or above the American flag. I don’t disagree with the message, just that he’s flying the Nazi flag OVER the American flag. Under it, fine... not over... even if I do disagree with flying a Nazi flag at all.
Under it sends a different meaning. Over it is logically correct, even if it violates the "proper way to fly the flag". Over says "the US is becoming dominated by a Nazi philosophy".
Really, this rino slogan to divide conservatives “it makes all conservatives look like kooks” whenever conservatives express outrage over what is happening in our government, has to stop. This is a slogan intended to weaken opposition to what the government is doing.
The man is making a statement for himself as is his right in the US. He is upset over the communists who have taken over the government. That is not extreme and he expressed it in a way that got attention and that is his choice. Beck is getting negative attention as well and that is his choice. Some see him as a kook. If we turn on everyone who stands up, people will be afraid to stand up.
Well, I do think he’s a Liar. 52 yro SF Sgt. Not gonna happen, not even in the Guard.
Oh my goodness, I missed that! I am sorry I said what I did and I take it back. Thanks for letting me know.
