I wonder how these openly-gay “Christian” churches deal with Leviticus, and more importantly, with some of Paul’s letters. Are they, like some Catholics, “cafeteria Christians”? How does one, as pastor, teach that the Bible is the One Truth (except for the parts we don’t agree with)?
The Pope was granted the line item veto in Vatican II.
All “liberal Christians” must deny the inerrancy and divine inspiration of the Bible,
and declare any statement based on its authority as “interpretation”.
Lastly, when you show them the multiple instances of plainly worded (not subject to “interpretation”) verses refuting their ideology or position on an issue,
they say something like “oh, that was just written by angry men trying to oppress people”.
Why should they bother? They threw Genesis in the trash years ago.
They have no power to intercede on Gods behalf if they are unrepentant sinners. And someone taking communion knowing full well they are unrepentant, blasphemous- is not a smart thing to do.
You'll soon learn that they deny Christ's divinity, his virgin birth, his miracles, his bodily resurrection, and his redeeming act on the cross. I've heard several liberal "churches" teach that all the miracles in the Gospels could be explained away, that the multiplying of the loaves and fishes was just a act of "sharing" by all the people assemble who had food put back. (???) The resurrection is depicted as just seeing "christ" in the people around you. All that bilge.
