Tell me why he isn't her natural running mate....
You are a bit too morose for my taste. The direction is all good and the American people are standing up like they never have in most of our lifetimes (WWII folks being the exception).
When you see this rising of Americans from all over the land, just real people who are giving voice for the first time in their lives in the political arena, you should feel there is potential for good.
Of course DC will try to short circuit it along with the State Media. But those are just the lines in the battle. And the battle is being waged.
Join in. All you have to do to start is pick up your phone and call your Rep. and Senators.
That’s all that is required to enjoin the battle.
This woman shines with raw, magnetic political talent. She is a clear and present danger to the Statist agenda and has the ability to dismantle the left for many years to come.
This op ed is outstanding and got me fired up this morning; she brings me hope...real hope. She is one of the common folk and continues to impress with her grasp on domestic issues. In time, her acumen with foreign policy will develop- I am sure her private inner circle briefs her weekly.
The state media tried to tarnish her beyond repair....they did a damn good job. Still, my guy instincts tell me that independents can come around and embrace her if she continues to impress with op-eds, speeches, and appearances.
She is the antidote to Obama poison. If he continues to be exposed for what he is and continues to swim in his stunning arrogance the country at large will be clamoring for a new administration in 2012.
Not only will there be “Death Panels” but there will be “Birth Panels” if the Govt. Employee doesn’t think you can AFFORD another child, or if the Child has some Birth Defect that the Govt doen’t want to pay for......Just wait!
“You are a bit too morose for my taste.”
I wouldn’t call it gloomy. I’d call it realistic.
I still say Liberals are going to intellectualize any debates and characterize any opposition as stupid.
Just as so-called independents swayed the election toward Democrats, they will do so again in the future. They value the feeling of “brilliance” they get when they vote for
Democrats and they will not give that up. Democrats make them feel really, really “smart” and above the people who work every day and continue to pay taxes and more taxes.
But, I hope you’re right. (About people not taking it any more.)
IMHO
Best Regards
Not disagreeing with your characterization, just with the outcome. The independents are clearly being swayed by the voices of the Americans rising up, not the State Media and the DC crowd.
If that trend holds, and it should, this thing is a lame duck. Only a watered down version will possibly get through. Unless the Rats show bravery and a willingness to give the American people the finger face to face. However, that’s usually not their style. However, marxists are known for doing exactly that.
So we’ll see soon enough.
But this plan is so full of holes and so transparently a vehicle for taxation and rationed care, it’s next to impossible to convince Americans to sign on at this point.
Every American can understand her. Pass this along!
“...a willingness to give the American People the finger face to face.”
They have continually done so in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Witness the town hall meetings with arrogant Democrat politicians showing their impatience with the “stupid, uneducated morons” who come before them waving their home-made placards. Even with the showing of opposition they still have ambitions to go against the will of the citizens that gather before them as they worry about losing their “liberal base”; that “liberal base” is a large percentage of the pseudo intellectual, almost-fifty-percent base with “independent” reinforcements who will not give up their place in the superior heirarchy of Liberal “brilliance”.
IMHO (Sick to death of Liberal, pseudo-intellectual, “brilliance” baloney.)
BEst Regards
“I find his (0bama’s) style of speech halting and dictatorial”
I find his style of governance halting and dictatorial.
Agreed, the recent history is an interesting development but it’s all good really. The State Media and these vultures attempted to discredit the people who came out to these meetings and their efforts failed miserably.
The disconnect is becoming ever more apparent to all Americans. And independents (along with seniors) are the ones where the movement has been strongest. One report I saw said 66% of independents were now against Obama’s national medicaid plan.
Haven’t seen those numbers again but I hope to again. Also of the 52 Blue Dogs in Congress, already a couple of dozen have come out against it BEFORE Obama does his dog and pony show for the zillionth time already.
The Congressman from Arkansas today who came out nay today is considered somewhat influential as I understand it. Nothing says loser and a weak President when your congress people in your own party come out against your plan the day you are addressing them directly in Congress.
Be of good cheer. The battle is raging and we must press the attack. Just making calls to your Rep. and Senators is creating a wind of fear in DC that hasn’t been seen since they last tried to ram Shamnesty down our throats.
The socialist enemy is divided and confused. Call some neighbors and encourage them to hit the phones too.
“Death Panels” again? Why is she whipping a horse that has already passed the finish line? That line made headlines and caused heart palpitations with libs across the country because it was short and hit home with fears that many people were thinking.
Sarah has to be more than a one trick pony when it comes to sound bites. She needs either new or more speech writers.
That's a quote worth remembering.
Sticking with that analogy, the race is hardly over.
First of all, the use of the phrase, in an aside, is a tweak and a challenge to her critics. It also shows she's not backing down from her choice of language, regardless of the criticism she gets.
But more importantly, the phrase "death panels" is apt because for all intents and purposes, they're still there in Obamacare. It's a myth, propagated by those who are trying to minimize the impact Palin has had on the debate, that "death panels" referred only to the "end of life counseling" provision. In truth, that was merely an example of the larger issue -- the bureaucrats far removed from patients and practitioners who will make decisions as accountants and affect matter of life and death for millions of people.
Don't declare victory before the battle is won. The phrase "death panels" in evocative and cuts through the BS in the debate like nothing else has. As long as Obamacare exists in any recognizable form, the "death panels" (by whatever name they'll actually exist under) will still be there. The opposition would like to reduce it to just the one provision, where they can just say, "see, we took it out. Now stop complaining and let us pass this!" -- don't fall into that trap.
"...and now; with the conservative response to the President's address; the former Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin..."
Can you just IMAGINE the howls from the left..?
“Just making calls to your rep. and senators is creating a wind of fear in DC...”
Your optimism is cheering. It’s nice to know that some of those intimidating, psychotic, adolescent, childish Liberal punks are becoming fearful of an awakened populace.
IMHO
Thanks and Best REgards. (Greasing up my dialing finger.)
Sarah commented on Death Panels and a lot more than that. You are taking her comment out of context.
BTW, having government run death panels as the final and only arbiter is still a serious issue.
Your post comes across as somebody who is trying to hard to find something too criticize Sarah about.
